63 in a 40 'reckless op' court results

As some of you know when I was driving my car home from Nashville after having my Procharger installed I got pulled over 3 mintutes from my house in Dayton, Ohio. The officer kindly gave me a 'unsafe for conditions' ticket for doing 63 in a 40.

I initially plead 'not guilty' and my traffic court trial was yesterday. The judge called my name and I walked up to his bench. The judge talked to the prosecuter and then told me 'You got a freebe this time son, be careful out there. Case dismissed."

The officer who pulled me over never showed up to court, so I got lucky!

I'd keep a couple of your window modules in the backseat, just in case you get pulled over next time, and the cop has a G.

Wow, the only time a cop never showed up to court for one of my violations was for my tints. Every other time I got a plea bargain and was reduced to something other than speeding. You got lucky! Invest in a Valentine One if you don't already have one.. I haven't received a speeding ticket since I got one. A great investment!

I'm in Ohio, the land of the laser.

Radar detectors are pointless, cuz most cops use laser. Laser detectors are great for letting you know when you're getting a ticket.

I'm looking into getting a laser jammer, I hear they work great. Then, I can get a radar detector and be set.

[Rant/On] Driving 63 in a 40 zone, with cars potentially pulling in from side streets, pedestrians, cyclists and kids? It's too bad you didn't get nailed by the judge so that you may have learned a lesson. Too many of you pre-pubescent G35 owners don't know what it means to drive responsibly, and give the car a bad name and image. Go back to driving Hondas. [Rant/Off]

Re: 63 in a 40 'reckless op' court results

i've always heard that going to court to fight your ticket works most of the time since the cop usually don't show up. for me, it didn't do jack because not only did the cop show up, he brought diagrams and charts to make his case!!! he gave me a ticket for tailgating, which was totally bogus. the car in front of me was f$cking with me and kept cutting me off. i kept changing lanes to get around him and he wouldn't let me pass. the cop pulled me over and pulled a gun on me. then laughed in my face when i told him the story....damn cops!!!!

Actually a LOT of the roads around here are 3 lane (on each side), nice paved roads, with little to no cross traffic, but the speed limits are set artifically low and all the cops do every day here is run speed traps. It would be incredibly easy to do 60 on them (and safe too).

Now, I'm not saying HIS roads are like that...just giving an example.

Re: 63 in a 40 'reckless op' court results

Anytime you get a ticket call up the circuit clerk and tell them you're pleading not guilty and want the earliest court date. Chances are the prosecuter won't have your paper work or the cop won't show (especially if it's a day they're normally not assigned to go). The state (and you) always get an extension if they want, but they generally just drop it if they're not ready.

Re: 63 in a 40 'reckless op' court results

There were no side streets, there were 4 lanes going one direction, 2 lanes going the other (6 lane wide road). It was a business area late on a friday night. The sidewalks in the area are at least 6' wide on both sides. There were no other cars around me, it was still light out, no rain, and I could far ahead of me. Also the speed limit just dropped from 50 to 40 right about where she gunned me. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention I just got back from dropping $11,000 into my motor???

Trust me, I've hit a kid in a school zone before. Not hit like he said something I didn't like so I punched him. An 11 year old boy ran out in front of while I was driving and I smashed into him (literally). The kid was fine, I paid to have the car fixed (even thought the police report stated 'pedestrian caused accident'). And I am a safe and curteous driver now. Did I mention PROCHARGER?

??? I've got a 4 year college degree, a full time job, and I started/run a small company (www.KPtechnologies.net). I paid for the car (half in cash when I picked it up I might add), I pay my insurance, and I can afford to drive 65 in a 40. If I was found guility I would have paid the ticket, paid the higher insurance and went on with my life. And, either way, I will still spend more money on my car until it runs 11s 1/4 miles.

Seriously, who are these people?
