Can anyone help me find information on removing my old steering wheel and replacing it with a new (used) one on my 03 G35 Coupe? My driver side air bag would need to be switched out as well which kind of scares me. The old steering wheel is dried, cracked and has pieces sticking to my hand in those dew soaked, humid Florida mornings.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

two security torx hold the airbag in on either side. pop the covers off, you will see them. I believe it is a T30 security torx. then get a small flat blade screwdriver and pry the black part up off each of the orange and yellow airbag connectors.

19mm holding the steering wheel to the column. once that nut if off, wiggle back and forth to coax the wheel off the shaft.

set the steering wheel as close to center as possible to avoid having it off center when you put the new one on.

Take of negative battery terminal FIRST

I too was considering to replace my steering wheel due to the hot Florida sun drying out the top section of my wheel. Mine is not quite that bad, and I know a shop in Florida that specializes in interiors. I showed him my wheel, and he told me that it can be reconditioned to like new for $75. He does many high end cars. The process involves basically 3 steps. The wheel is thoroughly cleaned, then sanded, and finally redyed intact in the car. If the leather on your wheel is basically intact but dried, you may be a candidate. It's just another option.
