I have an 05 6mt and the shift **** likes to rotate. It will rotate about a quarter turn by itself while I'm driving and not holding it. Is there a way to tighten it down so it won't rotate? I tried turning it clockwise to tighten it, but it takes the leather with it so that was a no go. Sorry if this has been covered before (I'm sure it has) but I searched for almost an hour and couldn't find an answer.
Just get a new shift ****. There are some nice, fairly priced aftermarket *****.
When installing a shift **** be sure to use locktite (as stated above). That will solve your problem.

Thanks guys. Now here comes the noob question of the day- How do i remove the shift ****? I have some locktite already and I like the way the factory **** looks, I just need to get it off.
twist her off counterclockwise. Sounds like if it's already turning you won't need vice grips to assist in twisting it off. Just screws on and off. It's something like 10-12 full turns.
