Typical front bearings are designed to run between 120000-150000km... but dont go by that guide. I just replaced my front wheel bearings at 113000km. The bearings themselves were ok, but the reflector plate behind the magnetic strip deteriorated and caused my ABS to activate randomly which was dangerous.

Wheel bearings come as complete hubs, and are attached with 4 bolts. Very easy to install, just remember to torque the bolts to 60 ft-lbs according to spec. Took me an hour to change each bearing/hub this weekend with a jack, socket set and tq wrench.

not having a front axle in the way makes changing these things a lot easier. coupe front bearings are tit. rears arent bad either, but AWD fronts are more involved. possible damage to the abs teeth on the axle too.

also, keeping your vehicle protected from winter salt will save you a lot of headache. I work on cars in New England and the rust and corrosion is a ball buster.

Impact hammers work great for rusted and seized hubs. the trick is to try and first get the assembly to spin in the knuckle bore, to break the seal. then try and teeter the hub out. the bearing comes separate. A way to press the bearing on and off of the hub will be needed.

just a heads up if you so decide to try and tackle a wheel bearing yourself.

Which one has a press in bearing? The AWD?

My 04 coupe front bearings where complete hub assembly bolt ins... So easy and simple to swap!
