Oil Consumption

I have a 05 g35 coupe and i take it to walmart for the full syn mobil1 oil change every 2000 miles. I know most have problems with walmart but i have a friend in automotive that lets me get the wonderful $55 oil change for $20 so i cant pass up that deal... back to the issue
the last 2 oil changes it states ive been about a quart low... i want to know since i bought my car from a private dealer not a infiniti dealership is it covered. Im not real smart about recalls of tsb's I just witnessed my first recall ever happen with my dad Kia butterfly valve falling into the engine and they replaced the whole head for free and he had no warranty left..
My mileage is 37000 and i have no idea
Thanks guys

take it to your local Infiniti dealership and start an OC test immediately so you can get your OC on record. Make sure to print a copy of the latest TSB to bring in and also bring in all oil change documentation that you have. When you start the OC test, my advice is to take a road trip and keep it over 4000rpm....as this will CHUGGGGG oil.

I just got my new engine less than a week ago after failing my OC test. good luck.

SEARCH is your friend.....there is more info on here about OC than you can possibly read...

well when i took it in there for something else they said my warranty was gone becuase i guess the 5 years is up i have no idea... but if it is OC should it matter? The dealership out here are aholes because when i went in there every other line was "you should have bought it from a dealership".

actually I went in and told them I thought that it was consuming oil. They did a free oil change. Said come back in 1000 miles. Came back and waited an hour. Said here are your keys and we ordered you a new engine. I was shocked. I didnt think it was that bad. only 2.5 qts per 3750. No hassle what so ever. Very good customer service.

Your name should be "Lucky" not shininG35! There have been numerous members that were denied engine replacement for the same issues you're having. Apparently you found an honest dealership, with Infiniti that's unusual. FYI....your G35 shouldn't use any oil between oil changes! (zero)
