You know jiffy lube charges around $45 for whatever recycled crap they put in your engine.

Just FYI, it's free to dispose of used oil yourself at pretty much any Autozone, PepBoys, Kragen, etc...

Considering the horror stories from those quick change places, does $50 sound that bad?

I do my own for about that ballpark - AMSOIL full syn and filter. Of course, it helps to be a dealer!

do share how much you think:
- bring car in, put on lift, raise it
- remove filter spilling oil everywhere
- replace new filter
- drain old oil
- lower car, fill in new oil
- wash/vaccum
- drive car back out

- cost of filter
- cost of 5 qrts of oil
- dispose of filter, dispose of oil

nevermind paying the receptionist who greeted you and checked you out
service rep
mechanic

do it yourself and save what? $20?

When I first had my oil changed the dealer used synthetic and it was $50. Regular oil was around $30. Now I strictly use Amsoil.

My previous car was a Corvette, which would run around $75 for Mobil 1 oil change. $50 at Infiniti for partial synthetic and a wash and actual customer service is not a bad deal.
