Well what doesn't make sense to me is the fact that it still adjusts now that I have the window in the up position. I can push on the relay tab in the driver quarter panel and it will push the window the quarter inch up and if I release it will lower it back down the quarter inch. A couple of times I have closed the door since friday and it has not gone back up the quarter inch so I try the trick of holding the switch in the up position and closing the door and it goes back up to seal the window again.
So if it were the motor would it not be functioning at all? I of course have not tried lowering the window yet because I have not been to the stealership as of yet.

My driver side window motor took a crap yesterday so I decided to take the door apart and take a look at the motor.
I was in the process of removing the motor in plans of replacing it, I even tried the reset button but no luck. I decided to take a look at this section as shown here...
I unscrewed the three screws(only two is shown on this pic), after rmoving that metal cover off(this will expose the motor's internals), I noticed that there were a huge amount of carbon build up all around(not to mention I smelled this burning smell for the past couple of days). I gave it a little blow(no homo) and carbon dust just went all over the place. I suggest using a can of compressed air or something.
I assembled everything back together and WALA...it worked! I was surprised myself on this one. I thought i was going to need a replacement motor. Don't mind the ten million bolts you'll have to remove to get to the motor though. These motor assemblies are good at keeping a water-tight seal but at same time, terrible for venting out excessive carbon dust. Even if you have one replaced, it might fail once again in a couple years.

That is the issue w/ the Nissan window motors.. This is was a faulty design.. The 350z windows have the same problem.. They didn't build the motors w/ vents in them to displace the carbon fillings.. After a while, you'll have to do this again.. Doesn't matter if you buy a new motor, it'll eventually happen to that one too.. I've heard of people on their 3rd or 4th motor on BOTH doors.. Just a faulty design.. Opening the door, removing the motor, and cleaning it is the only way to fix this.. Had the same problem w/ my driver side window..
