New Pads and Rotors... Now have noises... :(

Before anyone says click the search button, I already did. No solutions...

I have an 04 Brembo Coupe which I changed out the pads and rotors last month. I bedded the brakes properly. Now I am starting to get horrible squealing noises when stopping. I know that there are issues whenever changing out brakes of a G for these noises, but I am wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem. I did not put shims in the new pads, as I figured the new set didnt require them as they were 'Brembo' fit.

A shim is a very thin piece of metal that occupies the space to either level an object or in this case remove the chance of vibration of the pad. I thought my new pads didnt need the shim kit. damn

So they need shims? How much do they cost? I didnt change my front rotor but my guys said its still ok, can that be a reason for the squeek?

I say give them some use before you go any further. Give those brakes time to wear in a little as well as the rotors. Maybe have a day of "spirited" driving.

If the anti-squeek lube wasn't put on the pads when installed that's quite possibly is what's making the noise your enjoying. It's just applied to the outside of the pad, my Hawk pads came with it.... Glad to hear you did the break/bed in process.

You can use the shims and anti-squeak lube but if you don't do the break/bed in process you'll likely have unwanted noises. This needs to be done immediately after pad install!

i have the same issue, i have Stop Tech pads and rotors. I had a mechanic put them in for me around 1500 miles ago and no squealing until a fews days after the install, the funny thing is that i only hear it from the rear brakes, and it sounds like a damn BUS!, its embarrassing!

Any recommendations of which lube to use? my car is also Brembo equipped

Is their a process on how to apply the lube?

Thanks!

i just used CRC disc brake quiet, the aerosol kind

got it from autozone

i sprayed a coat on the back of each pad and the front and back of the shims, then i waited about a 5 or 10 min and put the shim on the pad and installed them into the caliper
