Well here in LA its as follows:
"Windshield:No tint
Front Side Windows:Must allow more than 40% of light in.
Back Side Windows: Must allow more than 25% of light in.
Rear Window: Must allow more than 12% of light in."

but luckily for me, my dad got a prescription from his doctor (says he's sensitive to bright light) that allowed him to get a permit to have limo tint on all windows .....the funny thing is that hes not really that sensitive to light....

in Texas the liscense plate is a fix it ticket. I got pulled over and when the officer asked why I don't have a front plate I asked him if he had any kids and he said yes then I said well would u drill two holes in the forehead of ur son or daughter and he said no then I said how do u expect me to this to my baby. he laughed and said he will let me go but recommended I get one soon, idk stillen bracket is about $80 vs a fix ticket which is $85 but I will get the bracket soon

I am going to contest the ticket. I have googled a lot. I plan to do the following:

1. Send letter claiming I don’t have tint on my front windows and show it must have been a mistake of judgment because it was at night.
2. Send pictures of my car showing I don’t have tint. One with window half down, another with someone inside the car with window up and one at night (time stamped 9:10)

Chicago is brutal NO FRONT TINTS PERIOD...! This is an amazing city but when it comes to automobiles they sure know how to make it a bitch and get their monies!

My old car had all 4 tints- back when tickets were $25 I would get about 1 every other month. So not too big of a deal but still a pain!

Soo needless to say when the tickets went up to $250 I did not tint the fronts of the G, cause the meter maids are out basically 24/7 and they are relentless!

Hope you get out of it somehow..

Just got mine done 50% back and sides... can you wash your car after tint? They told me to don't roll down my windows for 4 days....

so you are going to go to court and fight the ticket with a car that has illegal tint one it. The only way they will drop the ticket is if they can go outside and check the windows then and have them pass. Then you will get hit with a bigger fine from court cost also.

i dont like tint.. just for this reason.... its a bs ticket u got man.. sucks

I removed my front tint when the fine went up to $250. A week later I find out they are about to legalize tints in IL. Just waiting on Governor to sign

lol this guy is funny. Same here in CA, no holes on front bumper = no license plate and that is legal.

You can get a permit to have tint on your windows legally. Just go to the Secretary of State and get the paper work. Go to your local primary care physician to fill it out and take it in. You'll get new license plates with a WT on them that means the cops can touch you and its legal..

so your saying pretend that they have a health problem and need tinted windows?

I had my eyes laser corrected. Now peripheral bright sunlight causes halos that could impair my ability to operate a motor vehicle safely. I need side window tint to keep direct sunlight from hitting my corneas from that angle.

OK other than having my eyes lasered to 20/15 the rest is all bull**** but if you think i couldn't sell that to my eye doc and the state...
