Oil Change question....Help me out please...

Hey guys,
Well the Infiniti dealership suggested as it calls for in the manual for the car to have the first service and oil change done at 2700 miles...When I called to schedule an appointment last week they didn't have one available until tuesday the 27th of this coming week...Anyways I'm at 2700 miles today because of an unexpected trip to AC I had to make...Will I be putting the G at a huge risk by driving it today and tomorrow until its appointment? If I drive it today and tomorrow I'll most likely be at around 2900 when I arrive for the oil change...Is there anything against the warranty because of this? I know its usually 3000 miles you should go between changes but I thought that because they suggested 2700 that I could be voiding something here...Anyways Im confused so help me out if you can...Thanks guys

Re: Oil Change question....Help me out please...

200 miles is not a big deal. Infiniti suggests to do first oil change at 3750mi for the coupe. I know that it seems to be a matter of opinion as to when to do first oil change but from what I have read as long as you basically change it before 3000mi you will be fine, and IMO you could probably go to 3750 as Infiniti suggest, and it would be ok, depending on driver and driving conditions and length of time. Changed mine at 2800. Hope this helps.

Don't panic................no need to worry. Like the other poster stated, the required first oil change and each after is done at 3,750 mile intervals, and it should be no problem at all.

Most of us, like to change the oil sooner, in my case, no more than 3,000 miles. I usually take it in between 2,500 and 2,700 just for my own satisfaction.....

Re: Oil Change question....Help me out please...

My dealer told me to change my oil at 3750 but I will be changing it at 3000 instead. I was wondering, do I now have to change my maintanance schedule and perform all services at 3000, 6000, 9000 etc. instead of the one listed in the manual.
Thanks for the input.

No big woops !!
I did my first change @ 3,000, then switched to Mobil 1 and will change every 7500. I think that is a great schedule.

Don't worry, just go to Jiffy Lube, change to Mobil 1 and you'll be done in 15 minutes. You don't have to be overchaged by a dealer. Oil is the same and Jiffy Lube has pretty good filters. Jusk keep your receipt in case of warramty issue.
