Grinding 5th often....O_o

I remember reading a post about somebody else having a problem with their tranny... but I couldn't find it.

Anyways my problem, which is getting worse, is that I'd say about 3 to 4 times a week for the past 2 weeks I end up grinding 5th gear (and its only 5th gear) in normal upshifting. This is happening even when I'm not pushing it. It just decides to grind even at 1.5k shifts when I'm consciously trying my hardest to push the clutch all the way down. I really don't have any idea whats going on, and I've been to the dealership (yesterday) but I can't replicate that problem so I guess I'm SOL unless I can make it happen while the tech is there... well that's the impression they gave me...

Has anyone else experienced this problem or found remedies besides replacing the tranny or maybe my clutch screwed up? Is this covered underwarranty? Is it something I did to mess up the car?? I don't know what to do if the dealer won't help me? Do I just wait for it to get worse? Then take it back... Sorry for all the questions......it just hurts so bad to hear that crunching sound... *ouch* I just cringe at the thought.

I'm having he same problem from 5th to 6th and 4th to 6th. Its at the dealer right now getting looked at so I will keep you informed. More 6MT owners than you think have had this problem. Seems to be a syncro deal. Here are some links of others with the same problems:

mine used to grind when it was a bit cold...meaning my engine wasnt completely warmed up. you can try that. if thats the case, leave it at the dealerships for awhile, then show them.

however, my grinding just went away one day. strange. i want it back though so i can get a new tranny.
