We make threads to help everyone. I am sure some people reading this wonder if there are size upgrades for 17 & 18's.

Hi,
I put Goodyear Eagle F1 GDS3 tyres (17s) on my 03 Coupe and and swapped them onto my 05 coupe when I traded.
They are brilliant, excellent wet or dry and quite quiet until the end of their life.
I had trouble finding good 225/50x17. 235/50x17 so when they needed replacing I fitted new 18' wheels. I fitted 225/45 and 245/45 Falken FK452.
They don't have the feel of the Goodyears and now after about 3,000 km the are really noisy. Driving me mad.

Regards
Wayne

Has anyone tried the Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tires? I'm thinking about picking up a set to see how they are.

Im curious too...There is no treadwear rating. Does that mean they have not been tested?

Here is a link for the tire:

Never heard of this tire before.

Kind of off topic, but is it risky to deviate from tire size?

For instance, instead of 245/45/R18, can I get 245/40/R18 for stock 18's?

Also, how about 245 all the way around? And 225 all the way around?

oem 18's are not staggered by the wheels only the tires.

245/40/18 up front is the same as 245/35 for 19's (larger wheel you go the smaller the wall gets)

I suggest 245/40/18F and 245/45 Rear

believe 245/40 all around will work, some have gone this route and have no vdc issues.

Does that mean you can rotate them if you get same size tire on all 4?

sure can cause oem 18's are not staggered by wheel widths, only the tires are.

but do some searching on vdc issues. like I said some have posted in this thread that they dont have issue with the setup.

hopefully that helps out with your issue.

kinda figured that...

well your rays could sell for a good price on here.

still think by changing out your springs and adding a camber kit will help elimante that tire issue u have.

Thanks! Yes it did help. The thing is that i currently do have rays on my car, but i am getting 18's soon which is why i wanted the tire sizes for 18's also.
