What do you guys recommend for g35 coupe tires?



**I would not recommend T1R to anyone. They are soft (wear out fast) and noisy (large tread blocks). Noise gets worst as tread gets smaller.

I'm not happy with the OEM Bridgestones, so I'm going Kumhos from Tire Rack soon.

There are a few considerations to make before you buy tires for our coupes. Keep in mind you don't want to go cheap, your life depends on what's between you and the road....and cheap tires either won't last or they're so hard you won't stop when you need to! Tires have a wear ratings on their sidewall that shouldn't be less than 220 or more than 300. The Bridgestones that come on our cars are rated at 140, if you drive like most of us they'll last 10K miles if you're lucky. I always buy Michelin's Sports, wear rated at 240 and won't make noise when they begin to wear....should last 30K miles. To find the best price on these quality tires shop around, TireRack....Costco or you local tire shop....you won't be sorry and follow the recommended tire pressure of 35 PSI!

Where do you live? A lot of tires for our cars are for summer only and once the temp dips below 45 they you are asking for trouble....I found that one out the hard way once I had my mind made up on the Hankooks and was ordering them and was told they are dangerous below 45 degrees, I purchased the Michelins all seasons, they were a grand for all 4-I have 19"'s but there are not many options for non summer tires for the G's.

 

How good is the Michellin AS plus? how is the wear?

 

I will have to look but they come with a 45k wear warranty which is good! I have been driving on them for 2 days and they are a lot quieter than the stock Bridgestones but they were worn down and had 23k on them.

 

I just purchased some yoko s-drives! Pretty decent tire but for some reason at about 80 mph i felt like my rear was swaying back and forth.

 

Greeving lives in SoCal, we don't as a rule have issues with snow/ice or temp that would bother summer tires. Check out the Michelin Sports from TireRack but I'd still shop around for the best price installed. These tires are soooo much better than what other members have mentioned....no comparison!

Understand; I was told that it was more of the temp vice ice/snow even though obviously summer tires are not going to do well in those elements..I even asked about once the tires heated up from driving/friction if that would work for summer tires in less than 45 degree weather and was laughed at...

The all season Michelin's are rated at 500 treadwear, AA for traction and A for temperature....and a 45k warranty.

Too bad this warranty doesn't go through for our cars. Call Michellin yourself and ask them if the warranty is on sports cars. They just tell you that they can warranty that mileage if you have 2/32 before the warranty period with EVEN WEAR ON THE TIRE. With feathering there is no way that we are going to have even wear.

 

I was unaware of Michelins policy for our cars...that should be disclosed to consumers..I bought them via Discount so they are who I will go through if I end up with warranty issues. Thanks for bringing that to my attention!
