Painting / De-badging 2006 Front Grill

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if the chrome grill on my 2006 OB Coupe is able to be painted - if so, I'm looking to paint the grill itself black.

Also, I am also looking to remove the Mt.Fuji logo from the grill, however, when I looked at the grill it gives the impression that the logo is integrated within the grill - but I am not sure.

Here is a picture of my coupe for reference:

Thanks in advance guys,
EYZ

Painting the grille black is a very common mod these days. Lots of DIY's out there. The process is pretty simple, sand, primer, paint, clear.

Removing the emblem is another story. You can either follow the DIY by candlestickpark & bigc, have shanesg make you one, or buy Ionic's newly released OEM style emblem delete grille. The last option, IMO, is your best solution. It comes in a semi gloss black finish for $160 shipped, which isn't bad considering the time and cost it would take to delete the emblem yourself. Plus you can sell your stock grille for ~$60-75, making the net cost of Ionic's grille much less.

You can remove the emblem by squeezing some clips on the back of the grill. Once you take it off, you have to either put it back after paint, or bondo the void created by the emblem's absence to make it look like the grill never had the emblem. That's what the emblem delete does. Some people even paint their entire grill with the emblem still on it, which most people don't really like.
