How much is it worth?

I am going to be selling my '04 G35 coupe and need to know what a reasonable sales price is for it.

Dark Gray w/ black interior, 86k miles, auto, sunroof, leather, heated seats, power everything, no wrecks, no major dings dents or scratches, interior in great shape. It's all stock except a Metra dash kit w/ JVC Arsenal Double Din DVD player and custom black mesh grille. I have a set of 20" rims to go with it too, but no tires (ran out of money, which is why it is for sale). Also have the factory spoiler painted and ready, just not yet installed.

NADA says $17,075 clean retail. Any thoughts on what it should actually sell for?

Thanks.

It might be a good idea to go online and check what other private sellers and dealers in your area are asking.

That was the first thing I did. I have the car on Craigslist and have had ONE call on it, even though it is the least expensive G35 coupe around without 100K+ miles. The guy looked at it, drove it, and wants it but said he can only get a loan for $12075 (which isn't gonna be enough to pay it off). I have it priced at $14000 but am not getting any other inquiries at all.

How long have you had the car up for sale? Unfortunately, the current economy doesn't make it favorable for sellers. I just purchased my 05 coupe with 51k miles for 17.4k. The blue book value on it was 21.4k. I would give it some time. Just keep in mind everyone is going to be coming in with a lower offer than what you are asking for.

Thinking about throwing a cheap set of tires on those 20's and mounting them to help it sell. Any opinions?

To be honest, the market is horrible. The guy giving you $12k is giving you a good deal.

I bought my 04 with 74k miles for $12.5k.

I would look at the KBB private party fair condition
- I know your car is better than fair, but this value better reflects the economy

Nobody goes by KBB in my area, or at least that is what my buddy's uncle who owns 4 car lots in Tulsa says. But even KBB's Private Party "fair condition" says my car is worth $13,095 which is still insulting. Locally, aside from 1 G35 coupe with 100K miles, there aren't any listed for less than $15,900, and no 04 or new for less than $16,900.

True none are listed lower, but look at how long they've been listed, and they're not going to be bought anytime soon.

The car I bought was $14k KBB private party FAIR CONDITION - I paid $1.5k BELOW that number.

There are many Infiniti G35 Coupe for sale on eBay, but only 1 out of 100 have sold their car. Many of the sellers want too much for their cars in a bad economy. Check out the completed eBay transactions to determine what buyers are willing to pay. Bank loans uses Nada, so why can't the buyers use Nada to give you an offer. Nada shows the Average trade in is $11,475, so if you really want to sell the car, sell it on ebay at that price. If you price the car too high, once 2010 comes along, your car will lose another $2000.00.
