just do yourself a favor a save up some chedder and do right the first time…imho don't try to cut corners get some coil-overs

Why do people think single piece suspension is the best way to go? IMO, for a dd, a two piece is better quality (most coilovers are made in China, Taiwan, etc... and the struts aren't really great quality) and easier to maintain since you can replace parts separately yourself, but you lose height adjustability...

If the car is a garage queen dropped on springs, the stock struts will last a very long time before they get uncomfortable to drive on...

Can you please name what coil-overs are made in the country's you named and are you speaking from personal experiance?

Technically, pretty much everything is made in Taiwan and a few in China... Tein, BC (a company that also has the production line for Tein), Megan Racing, etc... I think JIC is made in either Korea or Taiwan, and pretty much most coilovers advertised and sold by our vendors here are made in Taiwan with a few exceptions that are made elsewhere (Japan, etc...)

If you are on a budget and just use your ride for DD then springs will be just fine.
The ride quality is extremely close to the OEM sport suspension feel.
Personally I felt that coilovers were overkill for what I wanted so I just got Tein 350Z h techs.
Most people get the Teins for the Z because the spring rate is much closer than the ones that Tein made for the G.
Over the next several months I got a great deal on a SPC rear camber kit and a pair of spring mounts that I will be modding for the spring mount mod mentioned earlier.
If u take the time and are patient/diligent u can find some great deals and stay within budget.

Not with the G, ride height adjustability is a must have for me. But that has been the case with most other cars I've had, I don't see why this car would be different. There's a reason why so many G owners love the Z stock suspensions...

Thanks for all the info guys.. really appreciate it. Sounds like springs is the way to go if i'm not doing any serious racing and im just a daily driver. However, is there any significance to the fact that my coupe is the base model, and not the sport with the suspension package?

Yes and I hate them. They were nice for about 2 months but I don't like the way they feel since I drive my car everywhere. They cost a grip so I'm going to ride them through and then switch back to a 2 piece when I send these out to be rebuilt. Don't get me wrong, this is a great suspension that handles very well, but I'm sure I can get the same with much more comfort with a 2 piece. Unlike most on here that jump up and down praising Tein because that's the only suspension they've ever had, I've gone through most of them on several different cars. I can tell you that Tein's quality went down a lot since around '98,'99 or so!

i've owned a 2 pc suspenion (eibach 350z sportline with tokico d-specs) the ride was harsh on my coupe but i loved the drop! On my is350 i chose tanabe coil-overs with the teas unit and to be honest the ride is so much smoother and i was able to achieve the drop i was looking for! just my $0.02

Hmmm, not really sure if there's a huge diff between the sport/nonsport suspension.
I do know that the sport suspension has:
stiffer shocks
rears springs are 25% stiffer
front sway bars are stiffer

Thanks for the reply. I am just afraid that the stock base model shocks will not handle aftermarket springs well?

Just be careful over bumps... lol I got a new exhaust by "accident".

I like my Htechs and I like the stance without a camber kit. I also have wheel spacers on mine..

15mm in back and 5mm in front.

i have the tenabe nf-210... 1" in the front and .06" on rears... really nice drop with my 20's
