G35 coupe vs 350z
G35 coupe vs 350z
I just purchased my G35 coupe on 3/27 from Cerritos Infiniti and I have already ordered new rims, tires, springs and clear turn signals. However, sometimes I feel regret with purchasing the G35 over the Z. Has anyone else had these feelings its like that saying "sometimes I feel like a nut sometimes I don't."
Re: G35 coupe vs 350z
I think you'll feel much more comfortable living with the g35... day in and day out... the little things will make a difference... no less driving excitement between the g and the z... but you get all the creature comforts of the g...

Don't worry dude I had the same feeling when i purchased my G35 coupe. Listen to this though my best friend just recieved his 350Z track and when we hang out in Times Square in NYC I get almost all the attention while he barely get's any, but alot of people ask though if they can take pics and stuff. So because of all that attention I know I made a better choice in buying the G over the Z
Re: G35 coupe vs 350z
sorry DJ if your having doubts then I think you made the wrong choice. You should of bought the g35coupe with no regrets. I bought the car with no regrets, 4 months later I still have no regrets.

The G's speed is almost identical, the G handles better, and lookswise is much more elegant. And you get all the badass sports car but with the additional comfort of a nicer ride, usable back seat and trunk, and better amenities. There's almost no downside - except maybe the "Z" emblem on the side (which I can live without).

Its normal man...
Sometimes, I think .. geesus ..I shoulda got a black on burnt orange interior z .. its a hard car man.
but like all the post say .. G's a better buy...
I asked some chicky boos . what they thought .. and they were like ... it's still a NISSAN....
but a INFINITI is more classy .. they dont know what the hell they're talkin about ...
but really .. thats what chicks think....
and you know what??
when you break it down to the lowest common denominator ...thats what makes you want the G
among many other things
thats my 3 cents

Re: G35 coupe vs 350z
If chicks actually no the difference between a nissan and an infiniti i am shocked. From my experiance they dont know Sh*t about the differences of either let alone even what a 350z and a g35 are. The G is a sweet azz car just as fun ( i am assuming) as the Z but as said with moer comfort and Buttons!! Gotta love the buttons. Seroiusly though I wouldnt want teh Z as a daily driver for practical reasons just too damn small. Plus there are too many Z's on the road already never do I see any G's except for the sedan anyway. Z is as fast or faster than the G but the G is all luxury and still gives you a nice kick in the pants. G all the way baby!!

Had my G since Nov. 18 '02 and I haven't regretted it a single day (even though I'm poor now). Honestly why pay 36 Grand for a 2 seater when you can get a nice 4 seater for that price (unless it's an S2000). I could see where you would regret it if the Z were alot faster or alot more stylish but it isn't. As far as luxury, comfort, and more car for the money the G is the way to go. My G turns just as many heads as my friends' Z.
Personal opinion the G's rear end is a million times better than the Z's. Come on, that machine gun LED style is so bad a$$. I do wish that the G's front wheel wells were more distinguished like the Z's but you can't have everything.
I think you made the right choice. Enjoy it!

Thanks for all the comments. I think in the long run I've made the right choice. Both cars definitely have features that I love. On the Z for example, I like the flared out front fender, lower roofline, and the overall sporty look, I also like the Lemans Sunset track version which I would've customized with matching orange leather interior. On the G though I like the elegance of the whole car, its smoother lines and the I really like the fact that the G is the Skyline in Japan which I've dreamnt of always owning, hence it may not be a GTR but it still wears the Skyline badge in Japan.
Again thanks for all the comments!

Re: G35 coupe vs 350z
Being an owner of 3 older Z's (80s model), and generally being one of the biggest "Z" fans on the planet, I was eagerly anticipating the arrival of the 350z. The car looks superb from the outside, when I finally got to sit in it I was ...... EXTREMELY Disappointed. The 350z interior is absolutely hideous, the steering wheel looks cheap, I dont like the center console or the odometer/speedometer display. The fact that it didnt offer t tops or a sun roof also discouraged me since the older ones had the T-tops which was Z signature....
I was thinking after that I was never going to like any of the new cars that came out and was actually seriously considering buying a 90s model Z Twin turbo.. the problem there is finding one in mint condition with low mileage since they were discontinued in 1996.
Then came along the G35c....with everything loaded the car looks ALMOST as good from the outside as the Z, some will argue it looks better.. but the interior is what did it for me.. granted the G35 has some of the same "Cheap" looking fixtures as the Z, but the interior is MUCH better than the Z and comfort wise it has a much better ride.. so really when you think about it the G35 is the better buy in my opinion, you get a more practical car with a back seat, better interior, and performance wise what are you really sacrificing? a few lbs of torque and about a tenth of a second from 0-60.. in any case after long debate I finally placed my order for the a DG G35c 6MT which will hopefully be here in a few weeks..
NOw the car I am interested in is the Skyling GT-R Twin turbo which is currently a concept car but would kick *** if they ever brought it to the US, it looks similar to the Z but "meaner" and has i believe the infiniti Q45 V8 engine with a twin turbo!!!!!!!!
