Doors wont stay open?
Our Murano was the same way but doors not as heavy. My 07 G35X is not all that bad. My 06 coupe will take your leg off. Mechanism on the coupe looks the same as on the Murano. Kind of funny that Nissan can't get this right after nearly a decade. Ticks me off. Not only will it hurt you, it is a real pain if trying to get in and out with your hands full, etc.
Just one of those scratch your head things. How can they make a car this nice and then put doors from a '72 Cordoba on it?
If there was a fix I'd do it but this thread is 4 pages long and no one seems to know of one. Of course, if it involves removing the door I would never do that again. Removed the door of my Pathfinder once and I never thought I'd get it back on!

Not sure what Nissan is thinking. The 300zx was the same way, doors were heavy as ****! I don't know why they make the door so heavy. There should be a fix for it without taking the door off. I have taken the door apart and looked inside, but I didn't have my flashlight so I couldn't see clearly. I have to fix my window, so I'll take a look again.
good conversation starter i guess. i dont mind our doors though, does hurt if you get whacked though
I checked it this weekend. There should be no need to take the whole door off. You have to take the door panel off and then you can have access to it. It is a small metal box it seems. That is all I know....
So this box that you are talking about, you think is the counter weight? Or do you think it is some kind of actuator.
After reading some online I'm not sure what I looked at is what keeps the door open. The black plastic bar with hills and valleys, what does that do? I searched google and found that the mechanism that keeps the door open is "detent roller".
