2004 6 speed with premium, aero,splashguards and sirius. It has just under 7k miles. It was involved in an accident with a repair bill of $8000.00. Both front airbags deployed. new fenders, hood and bumper. What would someone pay for my car once fixed? I know it will be on carfax so I have no idea, thanks.

 

$8,000 sounds like a REAL low ball inferior repair job per your description be sure to get at least 5 quotes. From 2 dealers!
A "as factory paint job" could be close to $5,000 alone......have to take it all down to base not just paint the new parts [poorly].

I think you will be in a diminished value suit with your insurance or the other persons.

Realize that AC, rad, wiring things on the front not replaced will be a future warranty fight due to unseen unclaimed [at this time] damges caused by collision.

7,000 miles could be thought of as $2,000 of use.

 

My claims adjustor tells me he has never paid a diminished value claim and the car is worth the same if repaired properly. The car is being repaired by the Infiniti dealership.

 

They don't pay diminished value unless you sue them [in court] for diminished value.............good the dealership is handling the repair that way they cannot say the future problems were caused by the accident. Scare them with a legal document saying they have examined the vehicle and are restoring it perfectly to as new condition less the wear and tear expected for the 7,000 miles of prior use.......they probably won't sign the document.........that tells you what's really happening!

The paint will be the problem in the future!
Get a firm written quote from the repairing dealer [and a few others] as to how much CASH they will give you for your car immediately after THE REPAIR, THAT WILL TELL YOU YOUR LOSS!

 

Your insurance adjuster WORKS for them not you, he gets paid if he saves more money by not paying it out. You need to hire [and pay] an independendent expert appraiser and let the two fight it out.

Watch out for alignment issues after the repair. Do you have as delivered alignment results documents [which you always[ pay or insist] to have checked prior to accepting delivery.

I am very nit picky knowing what happens in the typical accident repair..........the cars are never the same again.

 

i got same line from my adjuster when my daily driver was in fender bender. he said if repaired correctly (and also minor damage, mine was 2250) is retains value.

debateable. fender bender, yes, massive damage, just missing getting totaled????
