30k maintenance question

30k maintenance question
i am taking my car in today for the 30K maintenance (i have already been through the threads and excluded a few things from the list)
my question is: should i have them change the transmission fluid?
i want to put in a different fluid (people have recommended amsoil) and i can do it myself BUT im afraid that if any transmission problems arise later, they will try to tell me that since i opted out of it at the 30K service, that they wont fix it under warranty
so i was thinking maybe just let them replace it, and then do it myself later on.... which would effectively act as a fluid flush
what do you guys suggest?

You also may want to swap out the clutch fluid. I'm around 30k and just did that b/c it was a little murky. Took 15 min. Just buy a turkey baster and can of DOT3 brake fluid. The clutch pedal is a little smoother now, so I'd recommend it.

Are you aware you don't need to go to Infiniti for the 30K maintenance? I had mine done at Nissan after 25K miles because I've had
my '04 for 5 years, more of a time thing rather than mileage. All fluids changed, incl. a tranny flush for just over $200, Infiniti wanted twice that
for the same work....Infiniti dealerships.

cause the clutch pedal was sticking sometimes.... i told them how I had read online (this forum) that the master cylinders sometimes develop an internal leak.... i told them that, hoping they would just go ahead and replace it with a new one.... and they did

the clutch fluid should be changed more often than infiniti recommends.... it's easy, you can do it yourself
check your fluid, if it's anything other than clear and SLIGHTLY colored, it should be replaced
to do it, get a cheap syringe from walmart, suck out the fluid from the reservoir, replace it with DOT4 synthetic brake fluid, pump the clutch about 20 times, suck out the fluid and fill it up again with new fluid.... repeat this as necessary until the fluid is nice and clear after pumping the clutch
