oil ?
There's nothing wrong with Mobil 1 synthetic if you use quality filters and change it frequently, beats the crap out of using conventional oil. That's why for the past several years I switched to Red Line and then to AMSOIL after reading the oil contents charts....

I've actually read before that racing oil (I know red line and royal purple make "racing oil") is great for race cars which are continuously at high rpm's and high high constant heat, but not so good for "heat cycling", like stop and go traffic, short trips, etc. They're just designed for a different type of driving, so I probably wouldn't recommend that for a DD car. Red Line and Royal Purple do make normal synthetic oil, which is fine

Give Pennzoil Platinum a try, oil tests show that it's the best for our car. Not to mention cheaper by the jug than Mobil 1, at least here. My car ran on Royal Purple for 19k of its life, and I've been using Penn Platinum ever since. It's at 23k right now and running strong.

ive had all synthetic oil brands in my car which include penzoil, valvoline, royal purple, castrol, mobile 1 and oreilly lol. the best results i got were from royal purple but second best was castrol which i use now.

So I guess years of experience and having read all the charts doesn't count for anything? And then there's my last Z that I put 125K miles on the clock and it's still on the street. Sold it 6 years ago, who knows how many miles on it now? All I ever used way Mobil 1 and their filters changing it every 3K miles....but this is just my opinion and most professionals would agree with me.

M1 is not the same as back then.
Waste of $$ with that short OCI and the cost of Synth imo. There's Group II+ dinos that out perform M1 with 3k OCI's and cost much less lol.
What professionals are you referring to? Tribologists, Formulators, Scientists and/or Chemists in the lubricity field? I seriously doubt any of those. The professional proprietary oil blog I belong with would laugh at you....seriously they would man.

When not on sale, I can 2-3 conventional oil changes for everyone 1 synthetic oil change. On sale, it's 4 changes per 1 Mobil 1 change. Just looking at price alone, I would much rather change the oil 3 times in an interval than letting synthetic go that long. Most if not all of the guys in the States (Alaska aside) will never see the real reason why synthetic was developed in the first place.
I'm not going to get in a conventional vs synthetic debate, but please look extensively at the link I provided. It might change your mind and your wallet will thank you

nah someone had a graph of the oils. royal purple wasnt that special. i ended up buying german castrol FULLY synthetic 0w 30. im gonna change it every 5 thousand miles. however im not sure if i should wait that long on with our engines or if that weight is good to use in winter.
