I have the same knocking/popping sound from the rear. Dealership in texas told me it was one of the shocks in the rear, was not causing any damage, and was just a wear thing, but would have to charge me to replace them both to find out. So I was like eff that, don't hear the sound that often... thank you bose.

I don't hear it from the roof, it comes from the rear. I need to take the swaybar out and see if I still get the sound. It could be the shocks. I have noticed that if someone is in the passenger seat then I don't hear the sound.... very odd.

I'll update this once I remove the swaybar. Hopefully I can do it this weekend.

I know this may sound stupid...have you checked that the jack is secured in its place? I had the same sound...checked everywhere in the trunk. Turned out the jack had come loose. Tightened it into place - no more sound.

That's not stupid, unless he's got someone captive in there or forgot and left his bowling ball in the trunk chance are the jack might be the noise he's hearing....good

I have the same problem.. I only have two idea about this. First the endlinks and sway bars/bushing needs to be lubricated OR our rear bearings need to change. I'm might go to the dealer this weekend to have oil change and probably ask them if they can also take a look on my endlinks or lubricate is also. (since i need a car wash too.lol its free from dealer :>)

they'll be like it will be 100 dollars diagnostic and that will go towards any repair that must be done.

thank god someone else is hearing this, I thought I was going insane. Took it to a reputable dealer here and they checked the shocks/springs/axle visually and saw nothing. I keep rechecking my jackstand, it was loose once, seems to be tight now, and I keep clicking in the belts convinced it was those as well.

I'm starting to think that it may be the sway bar as everyone else is leaning though. I installed my front stillen sway, but haven't gotten around to installing the rear, and I think that the sound began around the time of that install. So maybe the popping is from my suspension being a bit unbalanced? Hoping it will go away as soon as I install the rear sway.

On a similarly related topic, does anyone experience a sort of back seat rattle? From the backrest, not any of the interior bolts... it seems to pivot side to side off the latch bracket.

I was thinking the same thing, going to check the rear seats, its getting annoying espically when someone is in the car and u can't have the stereo turned up to drown out the noise
