Not sure whats happening

So I drove to work, car ran great.
After work, started it up, started a little rough, like it was stalling out but after a second seemed to be running fine.
As I started driving away, the car would hit the rev limiter at like 2200rpms?
I was able to get home but never got the RPMS up, even at WOT.
Has any one ever had a similar problem? Its an 05 coupe 6mt with 50k on it. I'm thinking its the fuel filter? Has anyone ever changed one?

It looks like your car went into limp mode. It could be a number of things. My guess would be the throttle body assembly, but it could also be the fuel filter.

There are several things that can lead to limp mode. It could be electrical, new mods, faulty sensors, etc. I would take it to the dealership so they could tell you what it is for sure.

Have you recently installed any new mods? Check to see if everything is connected. My guess is still with the throttle body.

I have a code on mine for the Throttle Positioning Sensor... I've reset my ECU 3 times and every time it comes back 50 or so miles later and throws me into limp mode.

I really should get it checked out but i've been reading that its a PITA to fix it. and a lot of money. And since the car is running fine i'm just living the CEL

It's not running right if your cel light is on.

^^ yeah not technically ..but I figured if it has something do to with the TPS and my car is running smooth.. then it's a not an urgent thing that I wanna drop $800 on to fix right away

I'm currently in the process of getting the warranty transfered to my name so we'll see what happens

Throttle body problems are pretty common and we dont have a conventional fuel filter as it only a mesh sock on the fuel pump inlet.

The t/b is actually pretty easy to change out as im on my 3rd one and you can get a reman from the dealer.Last time i needed one was about 2 years ago and i got it for $150 with gasket.

Well, I dodged a bullet, It was a weak battery. Here is hte part I dont understand, they car went into limp mode for a dead battery but the low battery light never came on. WTF is it there for?????

Good thing it was just the battery. Usually a weak battery sign is when the ignition doesn't start right away. Did you notice any hesitation when starting the car?
