loud noise at 20 mph
loud noise at 20 mph
Well I am the proud new owner of an 04 g35 coupe..love the car...but its makes loud noises at 20 mph (regardless if im braking, accelerating or coasting) so i think its from the tires but am not sure...any ideas?
they are feathering, you can fix it for a little while by purchasing new tires but after they wear for awhile the same thing will happen again

yeah or if your tire tread is still good then just ignore the noise around 20mph..lol or buy new tires everytime you hear the noise but that would be alot of wasted money IMO

Not just noise but tire ROOOOAARRR....?
Eagle F1s are good tires, how many miles are on them? Look closely at how they're wearing, are the inside quarters wearing faster than the rest of the tread? If so, what you're hearing is tire ROOOAR, it's impossible to turn up the tunes loud enough so you don't hear this noise....been there! What you'll need is new tires and an alignment, that should take care of the noise.
Was you G lowered when you bought it, you might have other issues?

Eagle F1- They gave me less than 10K miles. I had that rumbling noise with them too. But, that's my fault. I hit a bumpy railway-track in the middle of a turn while driving in the "spirited" mode. It went out alignment, and I only noticed it after I started hearing the noise again. This was around 6K on the tires, but I drove for 4K more miles anyway with the noise. Spent $900 for the set of tires, wasn't in the mood to let them go. I now have a cheaper set of Hankook evo's ($500), which stick very good compared to F1s (performance vs. all-season).
Get new tires, and alignment. If you still have a decent tread on the tire, my guess would be that the previous owner hit a curb or a pot-hole at a decent speed, and messed up the alignment.

Had the same issue, it was the cupping on the tires. Got new ones and the noise went away.
It's still there though minorly but I think it's because I still need an alignment
