Speeding ticket...hlp pls

Hello world,i was reading somewhere here a fellow g driver got a ticket for going 120 mph. Well im kinda in the same situation. My ticket is 530 and 5 points. I was going 95 on 270 frederick. This is my first ticket and pretty much blows cause i feel like the cop went to hard on me. My question to the public is should i go to court which is in october or keep postponing it..my money situation isnt looking good right now and this 5 point **** is gonna kill my insurance..SO if anybdy can help pls feel free.

Depends how you were clocked going 95.

If you momentarily hit 95 just to pass a truck, for example, then you probably have a good chance of getting the ticket reduced.

But if you were pretty much cruising at 95...... get ur wallet ready.

you do whatever you want... but...

postpone the date at least once, twice if you can. in hopes the officer will not be able to reschedule himself to be at your second or third court date.

option1) appear in court. if its your first moving violation, it should get reduced (unless you get a realy crap judge whos a hardass) i got 75 in a 45 and only 1 year probation no points and court costs.

option2) if you're worried about points and insurance prices increasing, spend the money now and hire a lawyer. he should get you off scot free if its your first offense.

but any way you slice it, YOU BROKE THE LAW and were speeding, so face up to whatever punishment is given to you.

wow, my car would have been impounded for 7 days. my license suspended for 7 days, and a court date with attached with a possible 10,000 dollar fine if I did that.

Lucky you. But as other members suggested, bite the bullet and hire a lawyer. It might set you back a good chunk of money, but in the long run it will help.

I'm guessing you were at least 25mph over the limit. The cop wasn't too hard on you.
