There are also some "wear indicators that run across the tread. Whe the tread is level with the indicators, you need new tires. See below:

Myself, I change at 4/32".

Get a tire depth gauge at your local parts store. They are cheap.
That way you can check for uneven wear.
I also will not run tires on my FRONT less than 4/32.

I did recently add SBD Grounding Kit to my coupe and have been experiencing improvements in MPG

Parts + Dealer are over-priced. Get warranty and pray at night for the more complex issues. Premium gas only for my G. Tires depend on your driving method. I got my tires few months ago and theyre still in great shape. I do oil changes every 2 months or so to keep up w mileage. I can tell you the G is not a cheap car to mantain at times but I love my G more everyday.
