He PM'd me and told me he ended up getting a modded 1999 Civic SI with suede interior and 13 inch spinners. "SI" means "yes" in Spanish.

Hes probably on the Evo forums by now...

If you want a sports car with amazing power/handling, get an EVO

If you want a clean looking luxury but heavy coupe, get a G....just don't expect it to blow you away in the Performance dept.

I thought the G handled pretty well when I first got it. But as I got to know the car better, its just decent. The rear end wants slide out a bit under heavy acceleration in 2nd gear for me.

When I first got my G I thought it was fast. 1 year later with more HP/TQ and I think its fvcking slow.

I have a G coupe and a good friend of mine has an EVO. I have not driven his car and while I suspect his EVO is faster than my G, I would trade a little bit of speed for the class the G offers any day.

True Story: The two of us were meeting some people for dinner at a local seafood restaurant. He arrived 2 minutes before me and was handling his keys to the valet who took his car to the back lot. A second guy took the keys to my car and parked my G right up front. I would trade that kind of respect for a few tenths in the quarter mile any day.

Agreed. The G does look better. But the Evo isn't just a few tenths quicker in the 1/4. And you're not giving up a "little bit of speed" to keep the G. The G is not as quick as you think. It does look good, but when an evo pulls up, it truly sucks knowing your G would get smoked. You could boost your VQ, but its tough to beat a 4G63. Those are easily modded, not to mention, nearly bulletproof.

This is my opinion, but when mods are allowed into the picture. I like the potential of the Evo9. Example:

That really depends more on the valet guy. Second guy might be more of a car enthusiast and done the same to the Evo. Aren't Evos more rare than Gs?

Everyone picks a car for a reason. I picked the G because it looks great and seems to be a well rounded A to B vehicle. IMO if you are looking to buy a car and speed is really important to you, save your pennies and just buy a faster car. You won't have to mod it will just come stock.... faster. I drove my friends IS-F a few times and it is really, really fast... and it is stock.
