Why such a BIG price difference??

Looking at the right hand side battery cover (covers the brake resv on drivers side). Grubbs has it for $39.99 and Strictly Z has it for $79.99! Whats up with that?

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

I dunno but Im having a hell of a time with grubbs. I put in a order a few weeks ago and stil have no tracking info. Ive tried to call them a few times but get a voice mail. I leave a message but no one calls me back. Just something to think about before ordering.

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

If I remember correctly, I think the Grubbs one requires some DIY modification of the engine bay where the Strictly Z one plugs right in with no modifications. If you do a search you might be able to find more info.

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

The one from Strictly Z is a DIRECT BOLT-ON. I purchased that from them and it came with VERY detailed instructions and all components needed for the install....took about 10 - 15 min

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

From what i've read the Grubbs kit requires you shave down about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of the metal surrounding the brake area whereas the StrictlyZ kit is a direct bolt on that can be undone whenever.

I personally did the StrictlyZ kit myself in a matter of 5-10 minutes and with ZERO DIY experience

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

i was plannin on getting the cheaper one from grubbs and modifying it to save me 40 bucks, but due to laziness i think i'll have to cough up 80 bucks and buy the one from strictly Z.
i dont think 80 is cheap at all, just that theres no other choice.

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

Strictly Z is selling the covers for $44.00 if you do a local pickup. So if you guys know some people in/near San Jose and have them ship it to you it'd probably be mid-$50s after shipping and everything.

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

Well I might start showing the car here locally and it just dresses up the compartment a bit. Since my cars black, theres really nothing I can do with the engine cover (other than buy a carbon fiber one. talk about a lot of $ !!!)

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

I'm painting my engine cover and the left and right battery & brake covers red and silver to match my car... i'm going to start going to some of the local shows and the engine bay just looked weird with only one side covered

Re: Why such a BIG price difference??

Yeah, $80 for a plastic cover seem pretty steep, although I guess there weren't going to sell tons of them anyway, so they got to make money somewhere. I'd be more inclined to buy them if the cover said "Brake Fluid" or something instead of "Battery".
