!!Don't Buy From Grubbs (If you live in Canada)!!

If you live in canada, do not buy from Grubbs, cuz the UPS broker fee will eat you alive.

I bought something + shipping comes out to the grand total of $99ish US ($16.51 US worth of shipping, so they said), I emailed a guy there right before i made my purchase and

i asked "what's the EXACT amount of shipping it'll cost going from where you are to Vancouver BC"

he said "$16.51US".....2 weeks or so later, the UPS guy shows up at my door and asked me to pay for $37.55 CDN worth of BROK FEE along with $2.63 CDN of Brok GST.

WHAT EXACTLY did the $16.51 USD i payed them DO? I'm guessing into their pockets.

I emailed the guy that i request all the shipping/price information with a complaint (adrasil@grubbs.com) and it's been almost 3 weeks and i have heard NOTHING back, NOT A SINGLE EMAIL from him regarding the situation!

So just a warning to the Canadian G35 owners, if you do not wish to pay out of your *** for the BROK fee from UPS, don't buy from Grubbs

That is just a simple fact of life living in Canada and shipping
stuff from the USA. If you want to gripe to someone..... gripe to UPS for their top heavy brokerage fees. You can save money by shipping parcels via USPS, as Canada Post's brokerage fee is only five bucks. It will only take 3 times longer to get to you.

Grubb's shipping and service is top notch and should not be criticized for your stupidity. Get over it

I agree with AltaLad,

Your title is deceiving. You mean: If you live in Canada, don't buy from the states at all. This has nothing to do with Grubbs and everything to do with UPS.
I ordered several times from Grubbs and had nothing but good experiences.

I have also ordered many time from Grubbs, and they have been excellent. They even saved my *** a couple times when my car was blowing coils and nobody in Canada had them in stock. There prices are also very good compared to some other dealers.

It's definitely UPS that is the problem not Grubbs.

Contact your government and encourage them to be less Socialist. That's where your gripe should be. I'm doing my part by voting for U.S. candidates that promote Libertarian type free world trade, so I'm doing all I can for you. The money is probably going to your poor neighbor's "free" healthcare.

I agree 100%. My company does not even ship to Canada, specifically because of things like this. Shipping to Canadian customers from the US only generates complaints about the shipping & tax charges they incur.....because of their own government.

Hmm I guess everyone has had luck with them except for me. I placed a order on the net a few weeks ago and got a email that said I would get tracking info in a few days. Well nothing was ever emailed to me. Ive tried calling a few times to get a update and I get transfered to someone that deals with net orders but all I get is a voicemail. Ive left two messages about my order but no one ever calls me back. Any ideas?

I'm no socialist, but in this case......
This has more to do with a UPS cash grab (free enterprize) than the goverment.
The tax is minimal.

I have to agree with everyone else. Your own ignorance is what hit you hard in the pocketbook. Is this the first time you've ordered something from the US? Wake up man. I have been curious however as to why sometimes I don't get hit with a brokerage fee compared to other items I've ordered from the states. I heard a rumour a while back that it has to do with the country in which the item is made. So if it was made in the USA and shipped to Canada there wouldn't be a brokerage fee, but say you buy a part that's manufactured elsewhere then you get levied with fees when they enter Canada. Another thing is that you should always try to avoid UPS when shipping from the USA to Canada for items like this. The USPS is always cheaper! You can now take this as a lesson learned!

i had good experiences from grubbs. i ordered something for my g35, but accidentally bought it for the fx45 model, so i called them directly to the parts department and they took care of it.
i dont think e-mail ever works.

Re: !!Don't Buy From Grubbs (If you live in Canada)!!

NAFTA = North American Free Trade Agreement

The US is the one that constantly violates it via protectionist policies that are later ruled as violating it by the World Trade Organization.

Universal healthcare has been adopted by the overwhelming majority of wealthy, industrialized, western nations. The US is the exception.

The Cdn gov't is hardly socialist, I think Americans get the wrong impression just because we have universal healthcare. The Cdn gov't has steadily decreased personal & business taxes for quite a number of yrs now.

Very little of the extra fees associated w/ shipping stuff is due to actual gov't taxes, it's mostly money for the carriers. BTW, products made in the US coming into Canada are supposed to be duty-free (tax free). Infiniti products probably made in Japan.

I have ordered from Grubbs and did not have any issues getting accross the border. I bought my S/C from them and they lied about the value so that the fees would be less. Another time they sent me a package and they marked down that it was a gift so that there wouldn't be any charges.
