The G came out on top for reasons stated below:

1. BMW 330Ci Conv. (Outdated, over priced)
2. Acura TL (Hate front wheel drive)
3. Ford Mustang Cobra (Outdated)
4. Mercedes 320CLK Conv. (Overpriced)

If there had been no G, it would have been the over-priced, (soon) outdated 330CiC...

At various points, I have wanted the S2000, RX-8, & 350Z. 350Z would be for me if not for the G35c's "luxury" (ie better interior) & comfort (ie smoother ride). I actually think the 350Z looks nicer & it performs slightly better.

The Z4 3.0i is pretty badass IMO but a bit too costly.

G35c is an excellent compromise for near sports car while still being luxurious & comfortable.

Great Feedback everyone. Awesome that so many different cars and different directions all of us would have gone. "Follow the yellow brick road" =).

As for my choices. I would have found a way to get myself "back" in a M3. I owned a 2001 (when they first came out) (overpriced by about 20 Grand at the time), I was paying $680.00 month. Doh! (Sold it after about 8k miles). It was loads of fun though.......

The Audi S4 was another (hate the rims on the new ones). but again, pricey for me.

The best used 911 I could find, which is what I almost did.

Probably would have bought a TL, if I had bought anything period. I wasn't even looking when I first saw a G35. Then, over the next 4 months, I looked at several cars.

A secondary choice would probably have been an used GS300, even though it is underpowered compared to the G35 (but you did state there not being any G35).

2004 Sedan/DVD Navigation/Desert Platinum/Willow

SVT Cobra, but I didn't really want a supercharger or the dated platform.

Then they delayed the new SVT, still not out yet.

Bullitt or Mach 1 maybe. $5,000 cheaper and easily modded.

But then I saw the G, April 2002, done deal.




2004 G35C 6MT Black. Killer.

BMW M3 or Brabus CLK. I'll be homeless, but I'll have one. LOL ;O)
