So, what would everyone buy if their was no G? What is the next "bang for the buck" friendly to mod and reliable but vicious vehicle on the market?

would've gotten 350z or STI, and maybe S2k.

I would have went for the RX-8. That was actually the car that inspired me to get a new car in the first place. Once I realized that I could afford a G, it became a no brainer though, since I've wanted a Skyline forever. RX-8 would have been a nice consolation prize though.

Well I test drove an E46-M3, a 330i, a TL, and a Mitsubishi EVO-8. Of those cars I probably would have purchased the TL. The M3 was by far the favorite, but the wife hated the notchy transmission of the SMG-II (I probably should have driven the 6 speed). The EVO-8 was too "slapped together" for my tastes and the 330i was not as nice or as quick as the TL, plus it cost more.
The TL was the easy choice for me if there was no G-COUPE! Even though I wanted a RWD sport sedan or a RWD sport coupe, I think I would have made an exception in the case of the TL.
The above statements are only my take on the issue. If you disagree with anything I typed then you are 100% right!

Well I wanted the IS300 before I saw the G
Then I saw the Mazda RX-8 and it was nice
Audi A4 Quattro caught my eye
Volvo S60's are nice looking also
But if there was no G I probably would get the Acura TL
Thankfully they make the G because it simply is the best value for the money.............

IS300 here... reliability is a HUGE issue with me. And those japanese tend to know what they're doing in that category.

That would have put me back to Nov. 2002. If there was no such thing as a G, I would have gone with a Maxima (again) or the TL Type-S.
