shift **** help

Does anybody know how to remove the shift ****. I have tried turning that thing counterclockwise with all my might and it won't budge.

Re: shift **** help

If your talking about the manual, You have to really grab it tight with a set of padded grip pliers.....and break it loose, it should come right off then.

If you talking about the Automatic.....the bottom silver pc pushes down, and theres a small spring/clip that you pull out and the **** lifts right off.......

Re: shift **** help

I am talking about the 6mt. I'll try that, thanks. Any other advises would be appreciated, besides cutting it off. That thing is really on there.

Re: shift **** help

Yes, the leather is starting to flake - I think it is because I hold on to it too much which I am trying not to do.

Re: shift **** help

My shifter and steering wheel are wearing pretty bad and the car only has about 18K on it. Has anyone had these replaced under warranty?
