That Vette is way too old and has too many miles to consider exchanging the G for. Someone else said it was an automatic too? I didn't see you mention that anywhere.. but if so, that's a double-deal breaker. The manual transmission in Vette's is one of the funner things about driving those cars. You just need to disable the CAGS system, and then it's fun as hell to drive with those really tall gears.

I wouldn't even consider that car. Also... if he has an SLP exhaust on it, make sure it's not the SLP Loudmouth.. that exhaust system is illegal in many states because it's too loud.

If you are going to trade over to a Vette just get a Z06, they have great upgrades compared to the stock Vette or just get a newer C6. My brother in law owned a C6 Vette and it was a blast to drive.

I always wanted a Vette and had a 2000. It was a nightmare mechanically, and I sold it to buy the G35. I'd like another Vette and miss the camaraderie among owners. But GM needs to fix some issues.

No go on an automatic Vette. Especially a non-z06.

My dad has an automatic vette with 135K miles on it... that POS is always broke down and falling apart. Seriously he hasn't drove it in over 4 months cause he got tired of trying to fix it.
Test drive a newer G

You'll be far happier if you keep the G as a DD and look around for a C6 Z06... They are going for around $40K for an '06 - almost half of what enthusiasts paid for them new.

Yea well the problem is i have no cash. I was actually selling my G on craigslist to get into something a bit cheaper since I need 2 cars now since I still owe $15,000 on it and I recently got married. But this guy offered me the vette for a straight up trade. My dad actually let me have his trans am with an LT1 as a second car so Im not really desperate to sell the G anymore. If I do keep the G Ill probably just mod the trans am for a fun car.

..but Ive always wanted an LS1 and what better car to have it in than a vette.

Have you ever owned a corvette before to make that assumption? I have, and a highly modified one at that and I disagree with your opinion.
