Rattling/Grinding Noise

For the past couple of months, I have been hearing this rattling/grinding noise whenever I accelerate in pretty much any gear (I have a 2004 5AT G35 Coupe, but I always use manumatic mode). This noise is really starting to bother me, and I have no idea what it is. When the windows are down, it sounds like it is coming from under the car. When the windows are up, I hear this metal-on-metal type noise coming from the passenger side of the car whenever I accelerate. It is a completely different sound when the windows are up, and it comes from a completely different location then it does when the windows are down. Any ideas what it could be?

Also, I have no lights on the dashboard at all, so I am kind of confused as to where this noise is coming from.

Thanks!

Post a youtube clip of the noise... does it get louder as you gain speed? How about on turns?

for your dash lights, check if your dim switch works, if not u have a blown fuse. there r a set of fuses behind your battery, ur manual does not tell u that

What I meant by no lights on my dashboard was that no lights such as engine check or AT check were on. My dashboard lights work fine haha. I just meant that there were no lights on that would tell me where the problem was. Thanks though.

Do you have less than 60,000 miles on the car? if so take it to the dealer! It could be the oil consumption problem. check your oil levels.
