Hey you guys I need your opinion do you think my complety stock
G35 coupe have a chance to beat my friends stock srt-4? Cause he
keeps on bragging that he'll beat me on a roll and on a complete
stop. But isnt it also a drivers race too? I read on car and driver its
fast because of the turbo and its light but it also depends on driver
right. just respond back thank you.

 

It's definately a drivers race. Those SRT's are damn fast. But if he is an extremely good driver he may take you by just a bit. It will be very close both from a roll and a stop. Make a video if you do decide to race him.

I've raced them from a stop, and they always are a step ahead.

I've pulled away from them on the freeway though, but barely. They are quick little domestics :P

I raced my friend's SRT-4 awhile ago so i think i can help...
I have AT coupe, long story short, i lost...

and for people who wants details here it goes...
at that time, my g had around 2000miles completely stock and same goes to srt-4 also... oh yeah and my car had full tank of gas(i filled right b4 the race) while he put only 5$ worth so i'm guessing around 2-3gallons... and i had 200lbs extra passenger while he was by himself...
we raced from a roll, around 55-60... i dunno which tranny you have but if you have AT i highly recommend avoid that speed(2nd gear tops at around 62 and u need to start the race in 3rd which means u r little bit off from sweet spot).. try race at around 50(2nd gear) or above 70(3rd gear)... anyway, as soon as race starts, srt-4 pulled 1/2 carlength(i think it's becuz i wasn't in my sweet spot rpm)... and it stayed there until 93 or so(end of 3rd gear) and as soon as i shifted to 4th he started to gradually pulling on me... at around 125, he pulled on me around 2.5 carlengths...
so i think manual tranny will be a lot closer(extra gear is damn nice in this situation)...

The SRT-4 will beat the G35c in a straight line, so you can:

1. race on a track where there are turns involved
2. ask some chicks which one they prefer :P

 

At high speed you should win, but from stop the G will lose.
Just tell him real racer race on the track, and i am pretty sure your G will beat him on the turns.

 

srt-4 will eat out cars. those cars are damn fast for the price but its not always about speed, there driving a dodge neon and were driving infiniti g35's, it doesnt much matter does it? lol

 

So there I was stopped at a redlight and up comes this yellow Neon on steroids. So I figure I'll show him what the back of my car looks like once the light turns green. Low and behold, this Dodge took me by a half a car length up around 75 mph before we got to the next light. He had to make his turn so I didn't get a second chance. But after that, I've been itching for a rematch! Those ugly little things can smack you back into reality. The reality being that there are faster cars out there than a G, but none of them look as good!!!

I ran one at Bithlo (our local drag strip). With about a 300hp G35, the Neon beat me by just over 0.1 seconds. After the race the driver told me that he shifted well before redline so that the turbo would not spool up past redline. He also said he was running "way slow" compared to what others were running.
BTW, that was my best run I've ever had, so yeah those little things are quick.

There are a lot of them around my house, when I was stock before the plenum, cats, and pulley i raced my friends srt-4, he has the mopar wastegate and blowoff, both mods very cheap and once we hit 70 it was over, took me by about a car, just did all that work and now i got him once i hit 4th. So like others have said he went out and got a mopar exhuast and suposidly now its much quiker, those damn things are damn fast. And they have all these factory warranty backed upgrades in stages, stage 2 cost somethin like 1000 dollars and puts them in the 12s. Stock vs me now though i walk them up top. Off the line i feel they are not that fast though becuase with my experience against my two friends with them, they spin throughout 1st and second, with my work done now i always hop at least a half car ahead, thats why we stay doing rolls from 10 mph which we stay SIDE BY SIDE for the longest time.... its not till after the 1/4 mile where i pull my half car, its sad but true, the neons are quik.....
