Well anyway, as most of you prob. know me or seen me around on here for over a year, i need help making this decision!! Well anyway since i got my car ive gone mod crazy and my sedan i guess is very "hot" to some people and ive been getting offers from people i know and total strangers?? Now my question is i have a chance to sell my car to either get a coupe, 350z,or an sti?!?! Im in the biggest decision and have no idea what to do, i wanted the 350z and test drove it but it didnt feel any faster than my car now, and the interior was pretty cheap but i actually had no problem with it because im into straight performance and wanted to a sport coupe , 2 doors! But i kinda ruled that one out between the g35 coupe because of the coupes much better looks and similar performance, but the sti is on a whole other level of performance but still a 4 door car, already turbo which is highly moddable and if i wanted to turbo my coupe it would take me years and years!??!!? Man lol... So should i keep my car, and get actually what i REALLY want rite now, an M3 in 2 years? Or get my second love the g35 coupe, or maybe an sti i love them all, this sucks. Also i was thinking about the winter and how it sucked so much in my car. Martin

you really want an E46 M3 or the next gen M3? If E46, I say screw the rest of the cars and just get the E46 M3.(since that would be the car you really want.)

As for the STI, if you want straight performance like you say, thats a great reason to climb into one.And so is the ability to modify one. Plus it will be better in winter. However I can't get over the looks that it has.

I think you have a great looking car which performs at a level comparable to the 350z or the G35 coupe. My vote goes to keeping the sedan and getting the new M3 in two years or the new GT-R when/if it becomes available. good luck with your decision.

Yea thanks man, i was thinking about it all night and saw and M3 and M5 parked next to each other and ohhh my goddd man, just something about them!! I would put the G35 coupe over the M3 only if it had the same performance, i love the G35 coupe's looks just as much as the M3, i think i'll wait but i love the G35 alot and would be sad to go to an M3 and not a coupe haha, decisions i have to make but we'll see, i wont jump on it rite now. And also with all the stuff done to my car so far and with my 19's, ive taken coupes from a stop and roll 6 spds with a great driver by over a cl up to 2, but those 350z's hang reite with me up until about 90-100 and i start pulling, but those are bone stock, VERY impressive considering mine has work done to it. i think you should just wait for the 05 coupe to come out and get that, by that time you'll have or should have a decision made... just an idea

I'm skeptical that you'll be able to sell your car without having to "eat" the depreciation. Why would someone buy your car for more than market value?

If you add up the purchase price of the car (including taxes and fees) and the cost of all additional modifications including labor, there is NO FREAKING WAY any sane person would pay you that much for your car. If they will, then SELL; if they won't, then you are just using dubious mental gymnastics to convince yourself that you are selling for a reason other than that you have lost interest in your current car.

That said, if you are going to sell your USED car, then make sure you buy a USED car. Otherwise, you are going to lose much more in depreciation (for two cars instead of just one car) than it would cost to buy a twin turbo for your G35.

Zimbo i understand exactly what you are saying, remember though my car is leased, and i would be changing names on my lease to someone else. My car modified has kept me liking the car, especially in the colder weather now cause it has been performing pretty good which was the reasdon for me getting tired of my car, stock and slow for my taste. I also wanted a coupe and a 6spd those were my reasons. So i would be able to get the down payment back that i put down, and hopefully the cost of all the stuff i put in without the labor costs!! So i lost a year of payments or money which is $450 a month, but i got to use it for a year also. If the dealer were to buy my car i was gonna be $4k upside down he said, with having to put that down for another downpayment on my next car to lease or finance. I dunno what i will be doing, i want the g35 coupe or 350z especially turbo'd and thought that i would be doing it, but so many people are pointing things out that i'll blow my engine and [censored] the way i drive, especially i dont have money rite now for it and i kinda want that performance to keep me happy. I will probably just stick with my car for the next 2 years till lease is up, then ill have money to get what i want, and if other kits come out and cheaper parts to rebuild the engine i might get a coupe and go FI. I think you should get what you really want, if you can afford it with no problems. If that means an M3 in two year, that's what you should do. In two years, hopefully a GT-R will be ready stateside to destroy the M3! [img]/w3timages/icons/laugh.gif[/img]

I totally agree with GX9901. Get the car you really want. Its like the itch you just have to scratch. Just got to get it out of your system.

I would rather buy a Mitsu Evo VIII over an STi. Better looking and better handling. Not as fast though, the interior is garbage, and Mitsu is in big trouble....where are you going to service it when Mitsu doesn't exist next year? =)

The Evo MR has a few more horses and is lighter....and is due out soon.

But if you want an M3, go for it! Great engine, great interior, great looks. The funny thing is, in the SF bay area, I see more E46 M3's than I do G35 coupes!!

Yea my heart loves the M3, everything about it but dont get me wrong, i love the g35 coupe or at least MY sedan just as much, but the performance just isnt there!! Although my car can keep a good distance with it, these are stock cars that i still cant even beat. I might get the G35 coupe 6 spd, who knows but rite now my dream is an M3 or even an M5, crazy cars!! Sti and 350z are out of the picture, although performance are better than coupe clearly the looks arent there and i love the coupe a lot more, we'll see though. Thanks guys for your help, it took me a few days to realize what i have is very quick from what i did to it, very nice and im taking it for granted to much, i feel kinda ungreatfull in a sense even though im paying for it :/ I need to calm down with this speed shitt, its getting to me its like an addiction, its sick!! Like my friends think im crazy when i say my cars slow, especially after rippoing up an Acura TL with a 150 shot nitrous who was spraying during the race and asked me if i had a turbo, or keeping between a 1 and 2 car length distance between me and an M5 and a 400HP S4 from 40 on up, all happened tonight while tlaking to some cool guys and their sick cars. Anyway bottom line is i love my car, and all of the effort i put into it, money and time to make it what it is, to make people just stare and stare and for people to come up to me and say i have one of the sickest cars and sickest sedan they've ever seen, it feels great. Or like when a TT 350z guy came up to me at the G35/350z meet and said man your sedan is sick, one of the nicest cars at the meet and to keep it and make it a sleeper was a huge compliment and reminded me on how nice this car really is. Man but i guess im just on the next level of performance, whihc is FI or M3 M5 with work done to it, sorry for making you guys read all of this haha, thanks again for your opinions and advice.
