Rattling sounds?!

Does anyone have any rattling coming from the back of the car? It sounds like it is coming from the speakers or the back panel. The dealership said that they are going to take the panel out and install insulation underneath it. Anyone else have this problem?

This should give you some idea of what is involved to eliminate the squeak/rattle sound.......click here My car does the same thing on occasion, but I just don't want my dealer taking the whole back of my car apart to fix something that will probably come back........

Re: Rattling sounds?!

freaking roads in the US for most part are sooo bad that its not the cars fault that it starts to squeek in few thousand miles...i have had couple of problems which are driving me insane and I dont know what to do...i have this click click(loud) noise that comes from the center console where the AT shifter is...as well as now I am having small squeeks from the body of the car, as well as the driver side window.

I get the body squeek when there is a large dip in the road and i am at low speeds at an angle and going over it...

Should I take it to the dealer, will he be able to fix all this? and do you think if it comes again, I can complain to some higer body so that they can do something about it with a permenet fix, i have sat in a IS300 with 30k miles on it having no squeek when the person lives in my area, goes from the same route as me and i have 13k miles and I have so many...

the leather squeeks too...

aahhhh!!!! i love my G35 for everything else..but this drives me insane..I wanna dive in and get another G35(this time a coupe) but I dont know what to do..these noises have really enhanced after my trip to OSU...

What should I do??? Please help...

Re: Rattling sounds?!

Does it sound tinny? Like a small piece of metal on metal? I had my car in 3 times to get this rattle fix. The dealer did the TSB twice and the rattle was still there. The problem was the radio amplifier back by rear window behind the driver.

yes, it sounds like a metal hitting a metal noise. i think it's coming from one of the speakers. I just don't understand how they are going to just insulate it. Isn't the noise going to still be there on the surface regardless of how much padding you but underneath?

Re: Rattling sounds?!

I've had that rattle before. They did the parcel shelf TSB and that fixed it for about 500 miles, then it came back worse than before. I had a different dealer pull out the right rear interior panel, and he fixed the rattle somehow. But then a new rattle developed in the dashboard near the NAV screen.

This car had been a constant source of rattles, and I don't even have 10k miles. As soon as I get one rattle fixed, a new one pops up somewhere else

Re: Rattling sounds?!

It is not the speaker, this rattle was on the driver side rear. It is actually the am/fm amplifier. It is located back by the rear speaker in the rear side panel. The amplifier has a braket that slides into the body on one side and then a screw holds it in place. The tech used thick double sided tape and wrapped the unit in this. He then slip the one side into the bracket and the pressed the unit against the body of the car and then used the screw to mount it the rest of the way. I have 200 miles on the car since the fix and I have not heard any rattle. Tell your tech it is the am/fm amplifier, he can call Plaza Infiniti and talk to John. (good guy, spent a lot of time fixing all my rattles!).

Re: Rattling sounds?!

If you live anywhere in the Northeast, you get the seasonal rattle/noises as the Temperature changes.....Winter I get the front glove box noise.....spring to summer its the window and sunroof creaks......summer its definitely the rear deck vibration/rattle and I've yet to experience the Autumn sounds as my car was brand new last Autumn and no noises at that time

I've come to accept this inconvenience as it is a "sports luxury" car.........Even my previous I35 had a nasty rattle in the dash behind the speedo assembly....so each car has its nuances......

when I hear a noise....I just turn up the radio

Re: Rattling sounds?!

man this sucks. I got TSB on passenger side real rattle and it is worse than ever. I only get it from the near speaker on passenger side rear. I also get rattle near passenger gloval box and near DVD navi somewhere. I also found out that my driver side speaker is messed up and it doesn't produce sound like passenger... GOD INFINITI What is going on!!!! I love my g's performance, but it's starting to freak me out on luxury and comfort.
My other car, Acura 2003 3.5RL never makes any interior sound even though it's about 35,000 miles(it's interior is solid). it's not the road. it's the G!
Hope dealer can fix this problems for good this time or I am going to complain

Re: Rattling sounds?!

The Other day I had my wife and daughter in the car, and when the rattle in the rear started, I had my daughter push her hand down on the rear panel, and it still rattled......She then told me the noise was comming from the headliner.

I took a look in the rear of the car, and the end of the headliner that makes contact by the center of the back window is just there....its not fitted into a slot or anything, and if I tap it lightly, it tends to make the same buzzing/rattlling sound I've been hearing.

Since it is not a constant sound, I will let it be....It seems to make more noise in the summer when the temperature expands things in the car.....
I will see if it stops now that the hotter temps are far and few between.....if it continues I will put a small pc of foam along the edge and see if that eliminates the problem.....

Re: Rattling sounds?!

I think most of us have come to accept the fact that even though the Coupe is considered a Sports/Luxury car, the hard facts are that it is still considered by most to be a sports tuned suspensioned car....

In combination with the 18" Michelins', the ride tends to make the car flex alot more than most.......
