FWIW,
I had more consumption with M1 than I did with Amsoil in my truck.

I remember my car back then (and mine was a NON-revup) burned through 5 qts (entire block's worth) within 1000 miles.
My oil pressure light even came on.
Luckily I know everyone at Infiniti very well so I was approved a new motor about a month ago.
Good luck..

I thought I remember reading that the dealer seals and marks the dipstick to prevent this from happening.

Don't feel bad. Mine went through 6 qts in 2600 miles all out of the blue because it wasn't burning any before. But I also think someone drained my oil but I

The dealer didn't seal or mark my dipstick. I was able to check my oil level daily with the dipstick while undergoing the OC test. Hmm..

Oil consumption also has to do with how you drive it. It is not unreasonable to expect oil to get past the rings at higher engine rpm because it becomes so much harder for the rings to scrape oil off the cylinder walls than it is at low rpm. So if you drive it nice (keep revs below 3000) you won't burn much oil. If you drive it like you stole it expect oil consumption to increase.

I agree with that statement in some cars. Not mine. I change my oil just before each Raging Bull Texas Stampede and we run over to 500 miles (we will do over 780 this year!) and I see no accelerated oil consumption in my car.

when i had my sti I remember people saying something about mobil1 synthetic being bad because at high temps, it would break down very easy and what ever problems go along with that..lol sorry im no tech but it could have to do with the mobil1..check into it

I only push it past 5k rpm occasionally, not that often. If this is true, its ironic how Infiniti boast the "Rev-Up" engine when u cant even push it to the limits..
