Get a old civic or something and put all the miles on that then just sell it when you move closer. You'll lose a lil up front getting a beater but it will keep your G in better shape longer. 180 miles a day is ALOT a year of that commute is almost 47k miles

Ive made a drive like that for year with my 03 sedan 6mt. No issues at all. Your car will be fine. Just enjoy it. Be glad you in your G for hours a day and not some raggady beater.

I would rather drive 47k/year in my G and take the hit on miles (what - $5K depreciation AT MOST?) than spend 47k commuting in a ghey civic or scion.

You bought your G, so I suggest: enjoy the hell out of it for a couple more years, drive THAT into the ground, then upgrade in a few years with your new income.

I drive about 3K miles a month as I do shifts in different cities and I really look forward to the commute...in my G. I friggin love my car and the fact I get to spend all that extra time with her....though I do enjoy the weeks when my wife trades me for her rx-8

What's the maximum penalty for breaking a lease? I'm sure it's still cheaper than buying another car and getting the minimum liability insurance coverage on it. I'm not a math expert, but am I missing something here?

Just talk to your landlord first. They may be willing to work something out with you.
