Before this becomes a thread about how incredibly insensitive I am I would like to issue the disclaimer that my sig is meant to be taken purely in jest.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

I saw two Murciolagos (sp?) just yesterday. One was stuck in 405 traffic. Everytime I see an NSX it's driving by a guy in his 50s. But if you see an 80 year old in a nice car, it's pretty safe to say the parents didn't buy the car for them directly.

King Jericho,
I'm really curious what you want to accomplish with your sig. Is there a need to put down certain G35 drivers to make yourself feel better? Are automatic G35 drivers supposed to react with laughter? I'm not ragging on you, I just am curious as to what you hope to accomplish with such a sig. What is your honest opinion as to how automatic G35 drivers will react?

[Quote: I don't think there should be 17 year olds driving this car that their parent probably paid for, I already know how much I will take care of this beauty because it will be paid for entirely by me, you never realize the difference until you pay for the car yourself.
I went to a very rich are high school where parents would routinely by their kids GT mustangs, Camaros, even 1 guy's dad bought him a brand new Vette. Twice I saw these high school kids wreck their nice car and get another brand new one the next week. Unfortunatly I drove around my very old 100,000+ mile Mercury Sable in High school, I think I deserve to splurge a bit on a nice car now "]

I went to a very rich high school too and my first car was a brand new lexus SC400. Just because your jealous of other kids having nice cars doesnt mean you need to dog on kids whose parents are well off enough to buy them a nice car. If your parents offered to buy you a G at 16, I doubt I'd hear you saying, "oh no mom and dad, I dont think 16 year olds should drive nice cars. Buy me that Sable instead."
I could never stand those kids that got sports scholarships to my school and then hated on the well off kids. If you dont want to see kids with nice things, dont come to my frickin school.

And I loved and appreciated that car and babied that thing with a diaper. I'm now 28 and an attorney so i think I turned out allright.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

As I said before, my sig was meant to be taken purely in jest. I can clearly see that this will only get more blown out of proportion so I have changed it to something boring. Most people did laugh and in that I felt it was serving its purpose, that is obviously no longer the case. I did not intend to put down certain G35 driver, and I certainly didn't put it up to make myself feel better. Come on, we drive G's!! We should all feel good about our cars.

I'm sorry if I made any automatic G owners feel bad about their cars. Truth be told, you should take pride in your ride no matter what my opinion is. As for the question, "What is your honest opinion as to how automatic G35 drivers will react?" My answer is simple: take it however you want to take it. If you're crying yourself to sleep at night over my joke of a sig, then your transmission is the least of your worries.

King Jericho,

I appreciate the honest response. No, I wasn't losing sleep over it, I was merely pointed out that on a G35 forum where half or close to half of the posters driver automatic transmissions, such a sig is going to be taken the wrong way. If my sig said, "Every time a G35 SEDAN is made, baby Jesus cries," I might get a chuckle from a few G35 sedan drivers, but I wouldn't expect all of them to share that sentiment with a statement that in the very least, is not complimentary.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

I am 27, paying for my own G35 fair and square.

I don't care if old people drive nice car on the road,
what pisses me off are the people who cause damn traffic.
*45- on 65+ freeway (it aint local! damn it)
*complete stop on freeways to change the lanes(like they own the damn road)

This just happened today,
*talking on cell and changing lanes(dumb a$$ almost crashed into me)

Old farts, please continue to buy those nice cars, I can't afford them yet, but it's still nice to see them on the road.

OMG, I can't beleive you guys. I am a 42 yr. old female that would love to come face to face and say the things you are typing. Everyone will get old on the outside, even you boys. It's how you feel, and the G makes me feel very youthful. I'm right there at that red light dust'in those young guys, laughing all the way. Young guys come and talk to me all the time about my car and my looks don't seem to bother any of them.

Drive it with pride SmokinG! Just because you're over 40 doesn't mean you should drive a minivan. Youth is a state of mind, not a number. I love seeing older people driving G's, I just get pissed when they don't wave back at me...show me some sign of life!

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

So the basic points of this thread (mind you this type of thread appears every 3 months or so) are:

"Why you be drivin' bling car, granny? Wut up wit dat?"

"Old peeps should ain't not be not drivin' at all, yo!"

With the ever popular:
"I work hard for my money and I am pissed off at seeing privelaged kids getting anything nice, even if they don't deserve it, because when I was their age I didn't get a chance to be that privelaged."

This thread went from an idiot complaning about older people driving very nice cars, to the notion that older people shouldn't be driving at ALL, to pure flame-bait.

I'm in my 20s and I'm appauled at the attitudes of some of you people. What gives you the right to judge an older/younger person and what they do with their or their parents' money. Why is this country so ageist? What gives you the right to judge ANYONE, you should be lucky we're all living in a place where OLD AND YOUNG people can afford OR EVEN have their parents buy them these things. Don't take out your displeasure at seeing young people driving nice cars, TAKE IT OUT ON YOUR PARENTS if you're that stupid (is it the kids fault the parents want to treat them good [or even buy their love in some situations]? please think about that one for a minute). Don't whine at old people driving nice cars because you "Want to see more hot ladiez driving nice carzzzzzzz!!!%@!$!" Lets not touch the subject of older people and their degrading driving abilities; that is a whole new topic which this thread should not have gotten into in the first place.

Thank the forefathers for free speech. I FEAR for the future of this country, I honestly do.

Finally:

WHO CARES HOW/WHY THEY HAVE THE CAR, MIND YOUR OWN DAMN BUSINESS!

Shut the <font color=blue>smurf</font color=blue> up! Right in the <font color=blue>smurfin'</font color=blue> parking lot?!
<font color=blue>SMURF</font color=blue> YEAH! That is freakin' <font color=blue>smurf</font color=blue>!

Hey, some of us Burger Turners were actually high acheivers that actually MADE IT. Your comment is no more/less ignorant than the title of this thread.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

I fear more young punks with little or no experience with big power cars (or any car, for that matter) trying to be a big shot than I fear more experienced drivers. For the most part, a little old lady won't be driving an M5, and if she is, she probably drove a race car in her youth. As for old men, I think I'd rather see a 50:1 ratio of Carrol Shelby's in fast cars than 16-18 year olds.

Re: WTF is up wit old people driving sick cars

I just turned 24 in July. And I'm not exactly "killing myself" paying for this car. And I worked hard to get to where I am today. If old ladies want to drive the car, then let them...lol
