Does anyone get this noise coming from the engine?

I usually hear this noise in the morning when I start up my car. Even when its warmed up; As I pull out of my parking space onto the road, the second the RPMs get a bit high (2000-2500), I would hear this grinding noise. I would last a second or less. After that, I wouldn't hear it anymore. I feel its just a bit weird for that to happen.

I also hear it sometimes when I restart my car after work and drive out of my parking space.

Anyone experienced this before?

It's possible the noise you're referring to is the VDC engaging, but my G only does it in the morning when I start her up. It's likely out side temp could be making the difference in your case....winter on the right coast.

Nothing to worry about, it's the ABS self check. Happens somewhere around 10 MPH and sounds like you ran over a grate. If you had your foot on the brake pedal you'd feel it as well.

Breaking news

So i went to change my oil last night and poked around the underbody. Nothing unusual at all. So i ensured i completely emptied the oil pan and then noticed the crappy oil filter from my previous oil change (generic brand). Changed it with a mobil1 filter and put in 5qts(5-30w synthetic) new oil. Noise is gone at startup and my engine is nice and smooth at startup.

What oil filter you running and what type and weight?

and fyi i used the auto hobby shop on base and had my car on a lift.
