What does the "S" add to the G35?
#31
I have a 08 sedan with the badge and sport mode
starting in 05 there were a few extraordinary circumstances where the factory had fortunately screwed up on the VQ35 engine and some were somehow metentically mutated to a new form of VQ35 engines designated G35S (I believe in the Coupe Series only) and thus were introduced to the mass at a very special offering to those who wanted superior vehicular powerplant in the average form of a G35 coupe,
these were more expensive and also more costly to maintain as well so not too many people could handle this new responsibility and thus opted for the regular G35 leaving many of the Superior!!! behind doors of the factory only to reemerge later on even after the advent of their newer siblings the G37...
not much is known about the G35S... only that some claim they are even more powerful than the G37 and rivaling their distant cousins the GTR...

Coupe 6MT Premium RAS
The V36 G35 sport package added the 6MT, VLSD, 18" wheels, bigger brakes, sport seats with the leg extension adjuster thingy, different front bumper and side skirts, different steering wheel stitching, aluminum pedal covers, and a hand brake.
If you have a G35xS then it's minus the 6MT but you get paddle shifters on the steering wheel.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with power output of the engine, "sport mode" on the transmission just changes your shift points.
