Hey Everyone...


I am just under 60K mileage and am preparing to bring my 04 coupe in for it's 60K checkup, but am considering taking it to a Nissan dealership instead of Infiniti. Anybody done this? Is there any reason why I should bring it to Infiniti? Thanks!

 

My Infiniti dealer is 4 hours each way from my house, hence 100% of my maintenance has always been done at my local Nissan dealership. I've been doing that since 2003 with no issues.

 

Ive only had my G for about a month but Ive already taken it to the nissan dealership to be worked on twice. Both times no problems at all.

 

Are the rates less at Nissan?

 

The only reason to ever take your G to Infiniti is for warranty work! I discovered early that my stealership charges 40% more than the Nissan dealership two block away....and from what I've see their mechanics are trained better.

Yep. As an example, my oil changes cost me only $32CDN at my Nissan dealership.

 

Only downside of the Nissan dealer is that you obviously will not get a loaner while the car is in for service.

 

You might consider making an appointment with Nissan then you won't need a loaner or the price Infiniti stealerships charge....

Very true. My dealer at least shuttles my wife to and from work for free though.

 

I bought mine at a Nissan dealership in Calgary and had to bring it in within a week because of some of the weather stripping on the door being a bit messed up.

I found that the guys doing the work were familiar with the G and really excited to work on it.

On the flip side, the Infiniti (Stealership- I love that) guy I talked to about the same problem looked truly bothered by the fact that I even ASKED to get someone to look at it, said it would PROBABLY take 3 hours of labour to figure out what the problem was, drive it around, listen for the issue... come back THEN look at the stripping and (sigh) put it back in place OR (another sigh) replace it altogether.

Nissan fixed the problem in 20 minutes. Granted, they were a bit more obliging because I bought the vehicle there- undoubtedly... and subsequent experiences with the same Infiniti were a bit better. Their parts guys didn't call... and thank god he didn't because I'd have likely been taken over a tire and... well- you know.

Anyways- I too am going to minimize my exposure to those jackals... Long live nissan!

The good thing about Infiniti is that you can walk-in and they will work on your car most of the time on the spot because it isn't as busy as Nissan.

Downside is, there is only isn't a local dealership anywhere here. The closes 1 was shut down. LOL (Costa Mesa Infiniti).

I now have to choose between Tustin or Cerritos.

 

Take it to Nissan if it is cheaper. Just keep your receipts in case Infiniti ever questions it.

yeah, stick with the nissan dealership. way better imho.
