clutch pedal makes clicking sound when cold

every morning on my way to work (when its cold out) my clutch pedal makes a clicking sound when releasing the pedal. its a 2006 6mt coupe. it doesnt matter if the car is fully warmed up or not. in the afternoons when the ambient temperature is higher it doesnt seem to happen. im in southern california so it doesnt get that cold in the mornings.. usually about 50 degrees. any ideas? is my clutch pedal cylinder going bad? is this covered under warranty? should i ignore it?

I have the same year/model as you and all I can say for sure is that my G doesn't like cold weather. Sometimes the first shift into second doesn't want to go in! It even grinded once.

Mine clicks sometimes when its cold, took it to dealer last week and they said its normal.... like they always say.

Yea my '04 does that on cold too. Not a big deal. Many cars' clutch will squeak on cold and that's normal too.

my 05 will do that. Does it kind of pop up at the very end of releasing the clutch making a odd clunking noise.

I've had my 06 6MT for a month and i'm noticing mine also does not like the cold weather. As soon as the engine turns over it makes a knocking sound ( just one knock). If the engine is warm when i start it , it's smooth. 1st to 2nd is also a little rough, but who cares when your car is so goddamn sexy! I still can't stop gawking at it.

yah when i need to replace it im definitely replacing it with aftermarket - but im pretty sure this is related to the cylinder and not the clutch itself..

i think if we changed out the fluid used in our clutches to a more heavy duty one that would be helpful in itself.....

Any suggestions on what fluid to use? I'm guessing oem clutch was built for warmer weather

um, an aftermarket clutch/flywheel will give you more noise. (Clutch chatter).

My 06 doesn't have that clicking noise at the moment.

Mine's done that every winter since I bought it. The pedal also squeaks every once in a while when weather is warmer. Took it to the dealer 2 years ago while under warranty and they said it was because my clutch was "worn" and I needed to replace it for $2000.... I high-tailed outta there, 2 years and 30K miles later, I'm still on the same clutch with no issues. Stupid stealership....

Hey guys, my 03 coupe has the same clicking sound when it's cold. You just have to spray some WD40 on the linkage of the clutch pedal on a regular basis to keep it from making that noise.

its the white plastic clips that are on the clutch and cruise control. that white plastic wears out and starts making a clicking sound when it rubs.

suggest taking a look at your clutch pedal from underneath and you'll see what I'm talking about.
