Problem with Kenwood DNX-7140, any help appreciated

So here is my situation. I have a Kenwood DNX-7140 double-din nav/stero unit installed. About two weeks after I purchased my G35 the stereo would sometimes (not always) reboot by itself (this usually happened in the morning), but once it came back online after the reboot, it was fine, no problems. Then, a couple days ago when starting up my car the unit would not power on at all, and the little status triangle light in the lower corner of the unit would blink quickly. During that time I drove around for awhile doing errands and it suddenly started up and worked fine until I got home. Next morning, same issue, blinking light and would not power on. Via a suggestion from Kenwood's manual I pressed the reset button on the unit and now nothing happens. No blinking light, no power, nothing. It was suggested that it may be a power issue or one of the cables has gone bad/come loose. Just looking for thoughts before I drive it down to a local audio shop and get raped for having them look at it. Thanks guys.

Turned out to be a crappy wiring job which the shop I went to fixed. All is better now. Ended up costing me around $275, but that's better than a the $1,300 I was expecting to spend on a new head unit.

Shop charged $85/hr to rip the dash apart to get to the head unit, then gave me a discount when they had to re-wire everything. $275 total to get it fixed.
