Plenum spacer in NJ - Do I need copper??

I read that if you live in cold weather areas and places where it snows a lot that you should get copper for the plenum spacer. I live in NJ. Whaddya think? Is it necessary or just go with the regular one? Temps do drop in the winter but not too low, and it doesn't snow all that much either. I really don't feel like dropping an extra 80 dollars if its unnecessary.

I'm about to make the purchase tomorrow! Already got my z tube and pop charger in, front strut bar is on the way. I freakin love the G

I'd get the copper. No fiddling with the gasket when weather cools down or warms up.

If I don't get the copper I'll have to make adjustments for summer / winter?

Yes there is a coolant control valve that you need to adjust when temperatures get above or below a certain point, if you don't get the copper version. I think it's 40 degrees.

OMG....why would that suck, it requires no more than 2 minutes and a long screwdriver. You could get copper and the valve like I did then it only requires you to make a small adjustment summer/winter....get both well worth the $.

All sold by Motordyne...the valve is even offered separately on their site. The instructions are available on the site as well.

I run copper iso-thermal (no coolant control valve) spacer in North Jersey.

i live in NJ, bought the iso thermal (one with coolant control valve) and have yet to turn the valve on and have had zero problems all winter. Get the basic with the armid gasket and ull be fine. No problems with anything freezing up through all the storms and weather we've had

There is no reason to spend the extra money on copper in TX since you will only need to adjust the valve twice per year. The copper is designed so you don't have to fool with the valve in climates where it could drop to near freezing more often during the year.

Check Tony's (Hydrazine) post in this thread for more info on the different types of spacer setups MD offers.
