So, I'm looking at the Type R shift ***** and they have a 440 gram version and a 600 gram version. Can anyone give any advice on whether a heavier **** is worth the extra money?

depends on how much the extra is. 400g is heavier than most, 600g is huge. My TWM **** is around 450g, I paid $100 for it and I love it.

Well, it's only 20 dollars more, so I guess I'm not worried about the extra money. I'm just wondering what the benefits of such a larger **** would be. Would it help me shift quicker or something like that?

If the shift **** sits low, then the heavier the better. A heavy shift **** that sits high just feels weird, although a bit of weight on the shift **** will still help make the shifts a bit easier and smoother...

the stock **** is 210g. The TK **** is one of the heaviest at 515g. So 440g is solid. A heavier **** helps to dampen transmission vibration and does provide a nice weight behind each throw.

What do you guys think? Should I go for this monstrous **** or the slightly lighter 400 gram model?

Oh didn't know you wanted input on them. I've never driven such a heavy one in a G/Z but I drove my buddies lude which had I think 580g? The throws felt pretty good and firm but it was pretty heavy.

What's the heaviest you have driven with? I think you'll be happy with either wight, they both have some meat to them.

weighted shift ***** are nice, but in our cars they dont add as much as they would in something like a standard honda civic that has a very empty plastic feel to its throws. Our shifter feels very mechanical stock, so the added weight IMO just makes the throws and engagements feel more solid and precise. I chose mine more for the style and finish, the weight was an added benefit that I took into consideration.

Thanks for the replies everyone! My previous car was a Jeep Wrangler, so I don't have much experience with weighted shifters (I had a beer tap as the shift **** in the Jeep), so I appreciate the input.

I'll probably get the lighter one, since it seems that there is not much point to having a 600 gram ****.
