It happened i think Wednesday night when my dad was messing with the paint, to paint the walls. Well i had to go to school the next day and i see all these paint spots all over my bumper and grill. MAN I WAS MAD. I had called my dad and told him what did you do? You dropped paint all over my car. Hes like what? and i was like ya you dropped paint all over the front bumper of my car. Hes like dont worry ill look at it when i get home. So i was worried the whole day in class what if the paint doesnt come off. So when i got home i tryed to clean it with water and soap and IT DIDNT COME OFF.

What i had to do was take my finger nail and gently scratch it off of the whole bumper and it took me an HOUR OR SO to personally gently scratch off all the paint spots. I used soap and water to get the paint moist and wet. Watered and Whiped the parts ive done. Finally i was finished and i soaped and whiped it clean until i could not find any more PAINT spots on the Car. On top of that i was really sick with a fever. What a bad day. THANK GOD I DIDNT SCRATCH OR DAMAGE MY ACTUALL CAR PAINT.

Anyone else gone Through this??

So far I've heard about a dad backing out from the garage and ramming into one of his sons' G, then I heard about a dad cleaning his son's car with a shirt, leaving swirl marks, and now this...

my dad thought it would be nice to wash my car, DRY with an old towel. I had about 20 microfiber towels sitting in their bin right next to the car but he had to use an old line dried crunchy old towel. Luckily this was on my DP sedan so the micromarring was not that noticeable except on the black window pillars.

I told my dad that if he ever did that again to my new black coupe, there would be a throw down ;-). I'd try to beat him up but he's a 69 year old (in great shape) 7th degree black belt. I have about 60-70 lbs. on him though. Any predictions?

 

If you get some detailing clay, that will also take it off, and probably MUCH easier than the finger nail method. May want to get some anyway and go over it again to make sure you get all of it. You can get they clays at most auto parts stores. Meguiars and Mothers both make it, and there may be other brands as well. Easy to use, and won't damage your paint.

hhaha.. thats one of the main reasons why i love my stick.. my parents wont touch it.. nor will anyone else in my family..

 

I agree w/ using detailing clay. That might have removed the paint spots much easier and faster w/ no abrasion.

Take it easy man, it was clearly an accident. I'm glad you got it resolved. Just think about how many times you've ruined something your Dad owned in your lifetime. I'm sure you owe him big.

Not trying to attack you, but a little forgiveness is always a good thing. I'm 24, so I'm not a Dad myself if that's what you're thinking.

like the other guy above said, use a clay bar. that should easily take it out. you can get a meguiar's kit that includes all teh stuff for around 15 bucks, the bar should be good for 3 whole cars.

 

Yeah, clay bar would've saved you a lot of elbow grease. On my other car (which is black), I noticed that I had speckles of red paint all over the car. Probably from when I painted the calipers red. Clay bar took it right off. One time I even had white paint streaks all over the car, from the highway construction guys painting new lines on the freeway. That stuff came right off as well. I didn't get a chance to clean it for a few days, cause it happened during a road trip.

As for trying to beat up your dad, I don't know about that. One time my quad mates and I were horsing around in college. On of my friends dad was a judo master. (Didn't tell me until later)... Anyways, he was like in his 60's... He challenged us... Well... I remember going for him. Next thing I remember I was face down on the ground, and he got me in a joint lock [img]/w3timages/icons/frown.gif[/img]. My other room-mate was a star wrestler at his high school. I think he made it all the way to the California championships... Well... The guy's dad kicked his butt too... At the end of the day, he was telling us how he won the gold medal for japan in the olympics when he was much younger [img]/w3timages/icons/shocked.gif[/img] He didn't show us the medal, but I didn't feel like questioning him [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

I contracted with a company to paint my house..,
They asked if they could start on Sat,. just to do the prep work. I said fine...but no painting till I get back on Monday. Sure....no problem, just prep.
I get back home on Monday....and they had sprayed the garage door with white, oil based paint.
Now my BLACK G is just on the other side of a garage door that had been well sprayed! My baby was a kind of black FROSTED color! In every crack and crevice.
I totally freaked out! Threatened to kill the guys......
Bottom line....I got it to a detailer the next day and he said no problem. He calayed it, polished it and got the paint out of every crack and crevice.
The painter ate the $375.00 bill and all ended well.
If you G has some wax on it, you should be fine. See...it could be worse!!!
