I am having such a hard time deciding on which to get. I love the darker look of the JDM ones, but the amber signal part scares me. I wish the JDM and USDM can mate and be the ultimate tail light. Having the darker red of the JDM withe the red signals of the USDM version.

Which one do you guys would think look better?

I'd go with the JDM tails. I know I'm biased because that's what I have, but I also don't think that the orange is very noticeable when you aren't using the signal. Additionally, call me crazy but I think that people respond to the orange signal more readily when you are on the road. I noticed that as soon as I switched it up that people seemed to be more quick to let me change lanes in traffic. Just my 2 cents.

 

Ghayes, so you are saying that in person during the day when you look at your lights, it appears all red? The signal part that is... It's very hard to judge from pictures, but even looking at certain photos I can see a hint of orange when the lights are off during the day. My concern is that. I like the all red look but i like how the JDM ones are a darker red. Which makes the choice more difficult for me. :/

 

I'd say USDM, but I completely understand Ghayes' point and it makes sense. USDM for looks and JDM for better safety I guess.

I didn't know the JDM ones used a darker red.

JDM are rarer so they get my vote.

 

I have the usdm (stock) but I would probably get jdm just to be different. Both look good imo.

 

i'd say it depends if you want the amber or not. Also, it's not really a big deal, but I think the JDM's don't use the outer lights.

 

Thats the same reason why I'd get the JDM ones also.

 

Having pic of these two side by side would help everyone decide which we like best. Don't real JDM tails have amber turn lights, and don't they have issues with activating the trunk release without doing some rewiring? Tony at Riverside Infiniti was selling these last year I believe.

here's a side by side comparison. from the looks of the jdm ones, you can barely tell the signal part is even orange, looks pretty much all red.. but ive never seen em in person so its hard to judge. they are a nicer dark red unlike the stock USDM ones and look much better.

 

Not really a fair comparison since the lights on the right at 03-05's.
