what i mean by the same is the fluids from j to S not the whole method of drain and flush

i dont think i would notice any difference in performance, maybe the life of the fuild.

As an owner of an Oil Can Henry's in Oregon. We perform dozens and dozens of transmission flushes every week. There is a vast difference in the 2 methods of changing the fluid. We only perform flushes as it gets a 99.8% fluid exchange, a drain and fill doesn't exchange the fluid in the lines and torque converter, there for not as an effective method. We use Casrol MultiVehicle Import Dextron which is fully backed by Casrol to meet or exceed the requirements of both the matic J and S. And just for price comparisons, our normal price is $129.99 by itself, $16 off with oil change and this month we are taking 40 off the price with oil change making it only $89 for the flush. Sometimes I think I'm too generous! Hope this info helps.

why sir ? what is the true difference between j and s-matic ??? one might last longer that the other, Different viscosity ,who knows ? just bc one is outdated by a year or so doesnt make that much a difference correct ? it was prescribed by nissan

just called around...most places want around $250-$300, found a somewhat local infinity dealer that quoted me $170 for the flush including oem fluids', definitely having it done there if it checks out, probably get the oil done there as well just to be sure its the right fluids, just bought the car with 39k miles on it, no idea what was and wasnt done

Guys, just be careful when you let Nissan do the flush, they wanted to put matic K, yes K, in my car................
Their service manager said, that Nissan uses K for cars, and S for trucks, which isn't exactly correct.

wasnt there some info flying around in these forums, that master mechanics were saying not to switch to matic S, if the car came with matic J or if the sticker under the hood says to only use matic J fluid..?

I did the drain and refill procedure twice with 100 kms apart. and each time was able to get 3.5 quarts out.

I wasnt to keen on the flush with the machine process. ( i only have 50,000 kms on my 06 coupe)

Never heard of that, Matic S is the Matic J replacement, they do not sell or make Matic J any more, its obsolete. If Matic S did something then they would keep making J
